CONFIRMED: PSU football players in trouble

More on the story of the dropped charges against King.

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2860293

Standout starting cornerback Justin King of Pittsburgh had been charged with criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and harassment, but prosecutors this morning said they were dropping him from the case. They didn't indicate why.

Hmm....

I'm sure later on they'll come up with something vague like "insufficient evidence."

If you have to come up with a bullshit reason to drop charges, that's the one.

But it's far too suspicious. By all accounts, the prosecutor's office and the appropriate law enforcement agencies conducted a thorough investigation and only filed charges against those they couldn't avoid pursuing. Now they decide they don't have enough evidence? Total bullshit. This was pressure from Paterno and/or alumn/university.

Paterno seems like a good guy to me. I'd actually be surprised if he had a finger in this.

As for alumni, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they were using the pointy end of the stick or the business end of the check-book to make this happen.

More arrests may be in cards

By Pete Bosak - [email protected]

BELLEFONTE -- The assistant district attorney prosecuting two Penn State football players for their alleged roles in an apartment invasion and assault last month said Wednesday more arrests -- including that of additional players -- could be coming as the investigation continues.

"That is where I think this may go," said Centre County Assistant District Attorney Steve Sloane.
