CONFIRMED: PSU football players in trouble

Those more familiar with legal incidents like this... is it abnormal for part of a 'mob' to avoid the assault charges?

I was under the impression that the whole group went to send a physical message. Was this incorrect, and only Baker/Scirrotto fit this descriptioni?

depends on what witnesses saw. If Baker/Scirrotto were witnessed to hit someone with the bottle or kicking someone in the head they would get the charges personally, otherwise the group would have gotten it. I'm pretty sure those two confessed to those transgressions.

Six Penn St. players charged in fight
Posted: Friday April 27, 2007 11:05AM

BELLEFONTE, Pa. (AP) -- Six Penn State football players, including stars Anthony Scirrotto and Justin King, were charged Friday over an off-campus apartment confrontation earlier this month.

Scirrotto, a safety, and Christopher Baker, a defensive tackle, face the most serious counts, including burglary, felony trespassing, harassment and simple assault. King, a cornerback, and three other players face charges including harassment and disorderly conduct.

Cont'd ...

I believe at times like these it is a great time to be thankful for what we have in Buckeye nation. Let us all be thankful that this is not happening with our program. Stuff like this happens far too often and I am glad as a buckeye fan that our team is doing things the right way (Excluding the obvious issue with Clifford). Hope PSU can get things cleaned up soon and back to doing things the right way. GO BUCKS!

A lot of PSU posters are upset that the people who hosted the party (and weren't involved in the earlier street fight) aren't being charged for serving alcohol to minors. Damn police singling out the football players

IMO, these seem like ultra trumped charges for a freaking fight. Anyone with judicial system experience care to weigh in?
Burglary doesn't need to involve any sort of theft, all it involves is entering another person's property without permission.

true....but how many people walk into apartment parties, house parties, and frat parties EVERY WEEKEND AT PENN STATE. yes i understand that the situation is a little different, but if these guys are guilty of burglary, then so is half the student body at penn state!!

I expect Baker, and Scirrotto to be gone. I expect the other four to miss a game or two.

Yep, that Criminal Mischief is quit a charge

"Most of the people involved in the fight had been drinking, said the police chief"

No.....way.
