That was about the classiest and most fun hour of television I think I've ever watched.

+1. Even though this was the end of his time at NBC, he couldn't have gone out better, setting himself up for a strong return whenever that may be... can't wait. I can't think of a better closing to a final episode of any show I've ever seen.

So this is where picking sides gets you--saw a brief item this morning that Leno is going to host a White House dinner & found myself irritated, like it was a Presidential endorsement. JL has his supporters & his apologists, but I'm finding it hard to accept excuses when the trail to his "stardom" is littered with the back-stabbed bodies of Johnny Carson, David Letterman & now Conan O'Brien. What deal with the devil did this guy make, that he always comes out on top? (Letterman's jab from last night, on his Top Ten List, the #1 Reason to be Happy: "Finally, things are starting to go Jay Leno's way.") Now they say Leno is going to do Oprah next week...OPRAH!?! Gee, wonder if he'll cry...gmab.

I so want to see Leno's resurrected Tonight Show tank in the ratings.
(Maybe they could rename it--Tonight of the Living Dead).

It'll be interesting to see who NBC can book for Leno. For me, it will be a litmus test for character, i.e., if you have any you won't do the show. Oh, well, I guess Billy Crystal is probably available.

His monologues are a horrific train wreck.

Some of his jokes are funny, but his timing is so terrible. I can't believe a comedian could be this bad at telling jokes. It was my first time watching Fallon since he's had this show, and it was almost a painful experience. You have to think the audience is laughing out of pity more than anything.

Fallon defies adjectives--inert? maybe? Hadn't watched him pre-NBC imploding...can't imagine bothering to watch post-. He has zero energy. A show to keep in mind, tho', should you ever suffer from insomnia--pretty sure it'd put you under in a matter of minutes.

On the plus side of all this, I've seen Kimmel do some pretty inventive stuff--I may check him out more often in the future.

Like I've said before, I believe Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs, even though not a professional comedian, would be a tremendous talk show host b/c of his quick wit.

BTW, F Leno.

Agreed on the first part. I think Mike Rowe is a cool dude.

On the second part, motherfuck that bitch Jay Leno.

Reading the comments below some of the articles online today, it's hard to believe how many dbags there are out there that were thrilled to see Conan go out last night. The majority of them swear Leno is hilarious. My guess is that this is the same group that knew Oregon was going to kill Ohio State and think Bud Light is the best beer you're ever going to drink. I know Conan said not to be cynical, but it's hard to do w/ so many haters...
