Columbus Crew SC (2008, 2020, 2023 MLS Champions)

Henry scores RBNY's 3rd just before halftime, just as the Crew were starting to mount a comeback. Columbus outplays NY in the 2nd, Marshall scores one to make it 3-1 late, and not even 30 seconds later, Henry gets his brace on a beautiful shot. 4-1 final.

Columbus duo Hesmer, Heinemann likely out for season

OBETZ, Ohio ? If the Columbus Crew want to return to the playoffs for a fifth consecutive season, they will have to do it without the man who backstopped their four previous playoff runs.
The club announced Friday that it will likely be without William Hesmer ? who helped the Crew to a championship in 2008 ? and forward Tommy Heinemann for the rest of the season.
Hesmer, who started all but two matches in goal last season, underwent microfracture surgery on his right hip. He is expected to miss at least six months, putting his expected return near the end of the regular season on Oct. 28.
Heinemann, a starter in 12 of 28 appearances in 2011 ? his first MLS season ? had a microfracture procedure on his left knee and will need nine to 12 months of rehabilitation.

So double fail today.... The NorOnTour bus with about 60 of the craziest supporters was halted just inside of Zanesville due to a bird attack on the right windshield. Most of them on the bus headed back to Columbus, some grabbed their cars and finished the trip themselves.

Then the game, which is supposed to air on NBC Sports, wasn't working.... At all. The channel worked fine when they were showing the ever so important Notre Dame Lacrosse (weekly?) show. Shocking, considering it's NBC, right?

Anyways, the game FINALLY came on, so here's to hoping this cursed day gets just a bit better with 3 points in Philadelphia!

Jesus Gehrig.... REALLY? I guess THAT is why you are a CDM, not a CB.

Horrible hand ball. Stuck his arm right out to block the ball. Fuck Philadelphia.

EDIT: And please never call a PK "cheeky".... Sure, he chipped it in, but the GK was already on the ground. In the MLS, you may as well forget about that PK, because I'm not convinced there's a single keeper that has the potential to save multiple PK's in a SEASON.

Can't wait for James, O'Rourke, Mendes, and Balchan to get healthy.

Tell me about it. Tchani may be a bit dinged up as well. He didn't play at all last week.

Considering they only surrendered one goal on the road, I can't be too disappointed. I am furious with the lack of attack though. I can't tell if it's a lack of proper execution, or just terrible tactics by Warzycha. Either way, he's got a short amount of time to fix it, or else he'll be without a job come July.

Crew tied the Dynamo last night 2-2. Was a fun game to be at, although the security people were some douche bags. Tried kicking one of my buddies out because he was calling an entire row (the front row) out to start chanting, and some hardass didn't like that very much and pushed him.

The Nordecke filled up almost entirely by the time the game started. This picture was taken after the National Anthem.

I don't know how the Crew didn't get a third goal on that scramble in front of goal in the closing minutes.

I don't want to talk about that... Then again, they should have never given up the second goal to Houston... Had Williams been in position, that through ball would have never made it over to Ching.
