Moving to Fox Sports Ohio has me all kinds of giddy. Columbus in HD for every game. About friggin' time. I can't wait for the season to start.

So I may or may not be doing a little bit of writing for Crewture.com this season.

That's good stuff! They are surpringly well-connected. Let us know if/when you get published up there!

Saw this and thought I'd share. MLS report on our depth chart. A little shocked to see how many guys we still have injured from the off-season. Julius James, Rich Balchan, Danny O'Rourke's still a bit dinged, Will Hesmer... that's worrysome. And they're all on the defensive side of the ball for the most part. I'm afraid we're going to have to rely on those rookies more than we want to again like we did last year...

Also, pretty sure we have the best group of defensive midfielders in MLS. We're definetly 3 to 4 deep at that position. Gotta find a way to get our best players out on the field.

What are y'all's thoughts on the "depth chart"? Lots of good info and interesting stuff there that we haven't been hearing much about

Olman Vargas and Milovan Mirosevic are going to take Columbus by storm. Their knowledge of the game is unreal. Plus they've been teammates for a while, so the chemistry up front should already be there. Look for Emilio Renteria to absolutely break out this year.

Milovan reminds me of a smaller, quicker Alessandro Del Piero. Has nice touch on his long range shots.

Looking forward to seeing what a full season will do to Mr. Tony Tchani.. He could potentially be an absolute anchor to this years team.

I am also looking forward to a HEALTHY Francis! Here's to hoping that HEALTHY part stays for most or all of the season! Dude's got some SERIOUS wheels.

Will in goal will be solid. And with a better, more healthy back 4, we won't see as many head scratchers from him this season.

Yeah, but, is Hesmer going to be in goal early on, or is he injured? And do we have a healthy back 4?

Eh. James should be back soon enough. I'm just excited to have our fullbacks (Miranda and Francis) healthy. RB was one of our weakest points last season.

Gruenebaum is still a solid keeper backup. Will be interesting to see what he brings when he's in goal.

The goals in preseason are the same the world over, build teamwork, regain fitness, and don't get hurt. Columbus Crew Head Coach Robert Warzycha is looking to accomplish just that, perhaps strengthen the team if the right player comes along.

The Crew are fast wrapping up their preseason; after spending time in Columbus and Florida, the team is in South Carolina for the final tests before the games start to count, playing in the Carolina Challenge Cup.

Columbus has already faced off against the hosts, tying 2-2 the Charleston Battery of the lower division USL-Pro league last Saturday and losing to Eastern Conference rivals Chicago Fire on Wednesday 1-0. They finish off the preseason on Saturday when they face D.C. United, a week before the season opener in Colorado.

Unfortunately, the Crew suffered some early preseason injuries. Warzycha admitted his frustrations, "The injuries we have right now don't help" remarking that it's hard to build a rotation with a constantly changing group of healthy players.
