I can't stand the fact that they dumb down soccer positions in the US. Instead of calling them LB's, RB's, CB's, they are called Defenders. Instead of CDM, CM, CAM, they are called Midfielders. Instead of LW, RW, ST, CF, they are called Forwards.... :shake:

Kevan George's bio from Central Florida. He has some height on him, so he ought to be an asset on free kicks and corners. Coming up empty on youtube. Not sure what to think of him exactly.

It's still really early, but I think the Crew really messed up the 2nd round of this draft. Could have made a big splash with Jumper and Yomada, but nope. Night and day between last year's draft and this year's.

Stopped by the Adidas store in the Lodi Outlet Mall off route 71 on the way back to Columbus from a seminar in Cleveland. They have last year's replica canary jersies on sale for $19.99 right now (normally $70) and last year's sleeveless warmups for $15. Everytime I'm in there, they have something Crew related on sale. It's fantastic.

So, there's another supplemental draft today. I'm assuming this one is to take care of undrafted prospects.

Crew pick up midfielder Kirk Urso from UNC. I don't know anything about the kid, but signing a teammate of Ben Speas is only going to help his transition into the MLS.

Crew also pick up defender Jamie Finch from Washington. Again, I don't know anything about the kid, but it adds depth to a back line that was more than depleted with injuries last season.

These two guys may not even make the squad, but both are solid supplemental picks.

Yikes! Kohei Yamada falls all the way to Round 3, Pick 14. To the CRapids.

Here's to hoping the MLS advances their scouting abilities sooner than later. This guy was being talked about as a potential top 5 pick. Now look at him!

If anyone is around the Arena District tonight, stop in at the Three Legged Mare. The Nordecke is having a fund raiser to support new tifo displays (two stick banners, GIANT banners, etc.)

All ya gotta do is buy alcohol, and a portion of that goes to the Nordecke Fund. Plus, you can celebrate with me, turning another year older and all!

Damn, if I didn't have plans already tonight, I'd be there. A worthy cause, for sure. The Nordecke has some of the best and most creative tifo displays in MLS. Do you know if they'll be having any more fund raisers like this?

I'm not sure, if they do, I'll for sure let you know! Would love to meet some more of the people I post with on a daily basis!
