Everyone? Let's be honest here, I don't think the majority of the posters on this board really care about (or follows) the Columbus Crew. i.e. they don't go anywhere to read about them.

Those are my two sites for MLS news... Unfortunately, coverage of the sport is shit. So you gotta make due.

Catching up now:

No more black uni? Actually like the collar on the yellows, very British.

Just not a fan of the Oregon State bra uni as their away kit... Why couldn't they just stretch the stripes to the bottom of the shirt and just get it over with.

We could take a page out of Celtic's book (I own this because of how sweet it looks):

Give me something like Milan's kit from last year, only with yellow where the red is:

At first look, the away unis look awful. Pairing them with the white shorts actually makes them look ok. The problem being, that jersey buying fans probably aren't going to do that.

I've been looking for a nice Crew polo shirt for awhile now. So it's nice that the Crew made one for their home kit. I'm not a jersey wearing sports fan, but I might actually buy one of the home jerseys this year.

I don't mind those.

If you think that looks like a bra, you need to find some better titties to look at.

I'm just not diggin the whole cutoff into white.

Now we need someone BIG to sign, we need a designated player, to make the hideous jerseys not such a bad thing. Drogba? Anelka?

I'd be ecstatic with either.

So where does everyone go for Crew and MLS news? Other than mlssoccer.com and thecrew.com.

I used to go to a blog called Crewture that was pretty decent. His opinions were usually crap and he's start a lot of baseless rumors on his own opinions, but he had the jump on a lot of Crew news with links to foreign newspapers talking about potential foreign players interested in the Crew that he would find and translate on his blog (for instance, I'm pretty sure he broke the "Emilio Renteria to the Crew" news, starting at the very beginning of the process). Not sure what websites he got all of the stuff from originally, but it was great while it was running. Unfortunately, the guy that writes it hasn't made a post since Independence Day. He had made it known that he was a student at Ohio State and that school was keeping him from posting like he had. Now he's not posting at all.

Adam Jardy does the Crew's "Covering The Crew" blog for The Columbus Dispatch that's well done with quotes and such. Sometimes, thecrew.com and mlssoccer.com will run something based on what's being reported by that blog, so you'd get the scoop. During the season, it's a go-to spot for Crew info. During the offseason, its tradiationally fairly quiet. Jardy's done a solid job lately on it all things considering. It's slowed down, but every few days he'll have an entry up with good stuff.

There are soccer message boards out there that you can get some information out of from time to time. However, thanks to BuckeyePlanet, I'm spoiled when it comes to message boards. In short, they're all pretty much crap. I try to update this thread when I can to help generate some discussion, but work's been keeping me from doing and there hasn't been all that much talk. Glad to see it hopping again randomly during the offseason though :)

I've got some inside sources through the grounds crew that takes care of the field at Crew Stadium. I play indoor soccer with three of them regularly and one is a really good friend since our elementry school days. Every once in a while I'll hear something that's not public knowledge yet, which is fun. I'm always willing to share when I have something good. Even talked to Grad about starting a Crew thread in the rumor mill a couple years ago (if it's been that long ago). He gave me the go-ahead, but thought I'd get some crap from the regulars for polluting the rumor mill with something non-Buckeye related so I didn't. When I do post a rumor on here, I announce it on this thread as such.

As funny as it might sound, the place I've gotten the most information outside of thecrew.com or mlssoccer.com has been from the Crew's facebook fan page. They do a fantastic job of keeping you up to date on the Black and Gold through their facebook with multiple links on news articles per day (linked pretty much at the time it was written), they have some contests for tickets and such, tell you where viewing parties are, etc. They even put up "teaser" pictures of the new white unis about 2 weeks before actually releasing them. If you're on facebook, I highly recommend becoming a "fan" of theirs on it. It's good stuff, especially if you can't get enough Crew stuff (like me).

Crew selected former NYRB D Carlos Mendes in the first round of the Re-Entry Draft. Quality center-back that could be a first-off-the-bench defender for us, like Eric Brunner and Andy Iro had been in the past. On occasion, he was a captain for NYRB. Like the experience and leadership he could bring to this team, and with Marshall and James going down with injuries at different times last year, he makes a great insurance policy.

The Expansion Draft was held shortly before the Re-Entry Draft for the addition of new team the Montreal Impact. The Crew lost journeyman reserve D Josh Gardner in the draft.

MLS is gearing up for the SuperDraft here shortly. Getting folks lined up for the combines. Columbus is on record saying they are looking for a pair of strikers, help in the midfield, and a field general.

MLS has it's own cute little rumor mill on its main page right now and there's a ton of good stuff in it. It's worth browsing. Lots of talk about the international market with regards to interest in coming to MLS. One hot rumor is that Nicolas Anelka could become the next Frenchie to come across the pond. I'm not buying it myself, but it's certainly great pub for the league.
