Maybe some hope yet

I keep holding onto the possibility that the jackets might make something out of the second half of the season. And after last nights third period , which might have been there best yet this year, my hopes are a little higher. Great win.

I'm hoping for a .500 finish. Being 11 points down with 4 other teams in front of them for the 8th spot, it's a stretch to think playoffs are realistic. Of course, an extended winning streak could change that but I'm not counting on it. Unfortunately, the Jackets seem to always play their best hockey when the pressure is off. Good news is Hitchcock seems to have been the right choice. Things don't change overnight but I like the future of the franchise right now.

the term "shopped" is very loose. lots of guys get shopped. i know of nothing actually really serious. more of checking his values i guess to see if anyone wants to make a move which could ben columbus. dont read to far into this, this isNOT like the modin/denis deal that i told you guys about before the deadline. this is just looking around and testing values.

Are they hot? "Not yet," winger Anson Carter said. "We?re getting there. Every game is a struggle. We?re still trying to build some consistency that all playoff teams have."

favorable schedule, time to make ground, or atleast provide some legitmacy in the nhl. the numbers in the hitch era are actually startling.. heres hoping he can swing the best month in franchise history (as he did in december)

They could make some bigtime noise....
Calgary, San Jose, NYR and Nashville will be the hardest games in that stretch. I think that they can win every game beyond those 4 or 5, they can get into contention.

They are't out of it yet, but they need a couple teams to collapse and they need to win just about every game ahead of them.
