Crimony. Knew this was a possibility.Gotta hold onto this. 3-0 after 2
they have a pretty brutal schedule down the stretch....it's going to be interesting to see if they can stick it out and make the playoffs....
• Despite concessions made by both sides, we’re still without a new contract between theNew York Rangers and Ryan Callahan. If it comes down to the wire, GM Glen Sather is likely to try to offload his current captain before today’s deadline. A deal with the Lightning for St. Louis isn’t out of the question. The San Jose Sharks, St. Louis Blues, Dallas Stars and Columbus Blue Jackets are also thought to be sweet on Callahan.
• The love affair with Marian Gaborik has apparently gone sour in Ohio, perhaps even within the past week. After welcoming a recovered Gaborik back with open arms only a short while ago, Columbus Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen is now actively trying to trade him for some help on defense. The Kings are believed to have talked to Kekalainen about the veteran sniper.
There has been a long-running rumor that the Boston Bruins are interested in trading for some help on the defensive end to make up for the loss of Dennis Seidenberg, and there's a renewed sense that they could make that move ahead of Wednesday's deadline. In particular, there's a new report from CSN New England scribe Joe Haggerty that the B's are eyeing an addition from theColumbus Blue Jackets.
Finishing off the final season of a five-year, $33 million deal with the Colorado Avalanche, Paul Stastny has been the subject of many interesting trade rumors over the past few weeks. A trade could still happen, but so could an extension in Colorado, and according to a source close to Stastny -- Stastny himself! -- he would "absolutely" grant a home-town discount to the Avs, per the Denver Post's Terry Frei. But about those trade rumors ...
Pump Paul Stastny's name into Twitter, and you'll see speculation about him landing in one of many possible NHL outposts. One particular team rumored to be in the mix is Columbus, who has been categorized as both a buyer and a seller at this year's deadline. But they don't appear to be alone. The Post's Adrian Dater reports that the Avs have been taking a lot of calls on Stastny.
Columbus doesn't have a ton of room under the cap -- around $2 million, according toCapGeek.com -- so there will have to be some shuffling to accommodate Stastny or anyone else.
Back to the contract extension front, Dater reported Tuesday afternoon that the two sides are expected to talk at some point Tuesday afternoon or evening. The outcome of those talks may well determine whether or not we see Stastny's name on our trade tracker by Wednesday at 3 p.m. ET.

Please be making room for Ryan Kesler.... Please be making room for Ryan Kesler...
Is that a real possibility? I thought he had refused to waive his no-trade clause to come to Columbus.
He were not even waive the clause to be traded to a team in New York or Canada. He was trying to dictate the team that he wanted to be traded to.Is that a real possibility? I thought he had refused to waive his no-trade clause to come to Columbus.

Yeah, I don't think that's going to happen. The more I read, the thought is even without making another move, it may be addition by subtraction. Blue Jackets get "some" assets for a player that wasn't clicking on the ice with teammates, with 5 weeks left in the regular season and is a UFA.
