Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

That was a dominant win against one of the NHL's best teams.

At this point they are in the catbird seat, but they need to keep taking care of business against teams they should beat and still stealing 1 or 2 points from the good teams like Anaheim.

The last 2 games before the Olympics are @LA and @San Jose - if they can get at least 2 points or more out of those two games that would be huge.

The schedule after the Olympics ends starts with @NJ and vs Florida, two very winnable games.

1-1 since the Olympic break. The team really looks like they are still trying to get their legs back under them. Big win today against the Panthers but looked like dog shit the other night against the Devils.
Need one of those 17-4 runs tho finish out the season.

Just beat the Leafs, now they're 2-1.

Re: The Blue Jackets would like to add Kesler, but he won’t waive his no-trade clause to go to Columbus, reports Ben Kuzma of the Vancouver Province. Kuzma says the Penguins, Flyers and Red Wings remain frontrunners to land the former Selke Trophy winner.

Following his one season at Ohio State University, I asked budding NHL star Ryan Kesler what he studied in 2002-03 at the famed institution.
“I wasn’t much of a student,” he said.

.
Read what you want into Kesler’s legendary rift with Blue Jackets centre R.J. Umberger that goes back to being college linemates for the Buckeyes. There’s the story about Umberger supposedly being jealous about Kesler’s first pro contract and using it as leverage to do his deal.
There was some alleged public dissing of Kesler on the Columbus airwaves and the two even fought at centre ice in Vancouver on Jan. 18, 2009. That was a long time ago, but you have to think bitterness lingers.
“Everyone knows we’re not a big fan of one another,” Kesler once said.
