Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

They won. They're going to fuck this up and not have a top 2 pick like usual.

If you're going to lose, lose right. Get better the way the Oilers and Penguins are doing/did it. Suck total and complete asshole for about four years so you can get a handful of top picks that are literally impossible to fuck up.

:p

Sounds like a typical professional Ohio sports team...

They won tonight?! I turned it on around 14 left in the 1st and they surrendered two goals in the span of about 2 and a half minutes. That was all the Blue Jackets I needed to see for the night.

Yep. The Oilers were without their five best players, so they should've won. And they did.

Need a nice 5 or 6 game losing streak now so as to not fuck up the top pick. I swear, if they go on some sort of run that puts them out of the top two picks I'll never watch this team again.

They need to lock up the top spot for at least the next two years.

I almost said that if everyone comes back healthy next year then they should be decent, but then I remembered who I was talking about.

Well the one positive thing we could hold onto this season ended tonight. Going into the game we were the only NHL team to not be shut out this season, but that ended with a 3-0 loss. Statistically we won the game tonight but we didn't win the score board.

Half of their shots were of the "flip it on goal and the goalie will quickly put it in his pocket" kind. The shots on goal differential was skewed hard because of this.

The worst part about tonight? It was plainly obvious the Preds were having a down game and that the Jackets were playing desperate hockey, yet they still didn't get anything on the scoreboard.

I wouldn't worry about this team winning enough down the stretch to screw up the draft pick - they won't score enough and aren't good enough on defense for it to really matter.

When Mason is in net, I agree. He was tonight. They look totally different when he's not in net.

True, but tonight wasn't on Mason. He had no shot on the 2 on 1 and the PP goal was beautiful by the Trashtards.

This team still just can't put it together on the offensive end. and what's worse the opportunities were there, but either a player was out of place or he didn't get the puck up when the entire net was sitting empty (NASH)....

It wasn't on him.. but the team looks like they hate playing when he's in net. He kills their confidence. They have looked good since firing Arniel, until Mason played. I don't think that's a coincidence. Get him the fuck out of Columbus (after playing him every game for the rest of the year to secure the worst record).

The Jackets also signed Brett Lebda. WHY?!?!?! HE'S THE MASON EQUIVALENT TO DEFENSEMEN!!!

He's clearly a headcase. You could see that today. But at least he's playing hard, which wasn't the case last year.

The problem is Lebda is immediately their best skating defenseman now. He's basically a bigger Kris Russell and brings about as much.
