3rd line type center if peca is not resigned
d man that is right handed shot that can run the point on the pp.
back up goaltender.

there will be a few 3rd line type centers out there. Although I'd resign Jason Williams if I were you guys. HE's a right handed shot who can run the point on the PP.

Conklin will be available. pick him up to be the backup goalie

columbus has already had conks.

im not sure williams and his giveways go over real well with hitch.. but in 39 games he went 12/17/29 -4. i think in jwill it is purely a $ issue. if you can get him at a good price you do it, if you think you can get an equal player then you let him look around and tell him he is always welcome back. much like the ron hainsey deal last year.

Kovalev, Nash, Brown up for NHL Foundation Award
NEW YORK -- Alex Kovalev of the Montreal Canadiens, Rick Nash of the Columbus Blue Jackets and Dustin Brown of the Los Angeles Kings are being recognized for their charity work.
The three players have all been named finalists for the NHL Foundation Player Award, which honours a player's "commitment and service to charities in his community."
The NHL Foundation will donate US$25,000 to the winner's choice of charity.

please for the love of God don't sign Mikael Samuelsson during the off-season despite the playoffs he's been having.

He's not a top 6 forward but someone will pay him that kind of money. Hopefully it won't be Columbus. LogoHunter doesn't need a return visit to Columbus

Bowmeester was mentioned in that article with Nash as being a subject of "rumors."

Would JB ever entertain coming to Columbus? I believe I read an article by Portzline a couple of weeks ago that said that Columbus could afford him but that Toronto was the likely destination for JB.

Again, why not Columbus?

jo4h, what do you think of this arena-lease deal? Comments by Bettman and Ballsillie make it sound like it's very unlikely that the Jackets will move, but everything else is making it a little uncomfortable.

I imagine that the financial situation will have an impact on FA?

I didn't think Columbus was even in the discussion....

Discussion of what? Free agency? I figured they'd make a run at a d-man or something, maybe Bouwmeester. Scuderi will likely be on the market, but he's not a puck-mover.

The Jackets moving....

as for FAs, I think it'll be an interesting summer for Columbus.

jaybo, possibly but hell be expensive. him and nash know each other relatively well. umm maybe, but doubtful. id put it in the redden boat-theyll tender an offer id guess (at this point) and i dont think it will be enough to make it worth it. personally i think shea weber is a better player.

id expect to sign 2-3 mid level ufas (guys you wont be happy with, tyutin levelish..) the key is what? right hand shot from the point. [have i said that before?] the thing is right handed shot is really a left handed player, so the baseball equiv is the stud left starter, rare-not every team has one...

blackberry said its to good of a market. the problem is they cant/wont move the franchise till its a failure, columbus has a nice base, a good hockey following. the key is making the columbus bluejackets relevant in dytn, clev, cincy. it needs to be an ohio team to be competitive with less than 2m in columbus you cant compete. i think youll see growth in youth hockey in columbus the next ten years, hell look at the ohl draft columbus is producing 16 year olds with nhl talent after only 8 years with a franchise...

it could be, but i dont think basillie thinks its good for hockey. he might be a prick but hes not a dumbass jackass, hes a hockey fan. he wants a team in w ont but he doesnt want to poch a repuatable franchise... he doesnt want to be known like the canes franchise or many of the others like that...
