Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

What's the definition of trying the same thing over and over, expecting a different result each time? Insanity.

The Red Wings box the net during the playoffs. You can't get through. The Jackets need to stop trying to go down low. Start taking some wrist shots from outside.

In reality, the Wings are just a completely different team during the playoffs. I feel for you guys. Trust me, I know how it feels to get a wakeup call from the Wings.

Not a bad idea since we have about 10 shots on goal thru 2 periods

The Red Wings gave the pens a game in that series too that they should of won. The way to beat the wings in the playoffs it seems is to get a hot goalie. It seems when they keep geting robbed they get frustrated and will let in a cheapie on the other end. That's what has been taking them out of the playoffs in the last 10 years.

I agree with you guys completely. Its not even like you can take one aspect of the Jackets game and say we need to improve on. The Wings were just dominant in every aspect of the game. Still I can't wait to go on Thursday and root for the Blue Jackets!!!(even though I'm a Sabres fan)

The talent factor is glaring here.

They did a fine job of matching the intensity of the Wings for awhile, but the difference in talent is just amazing.

The NHL wanted parity in the league and that was supposed to shake teams like the Red Wings up. Forget it. They haven't missed a beat. Dominant performance today and I don't like the Jacket's chances at getting even one win.

I have nothing positive to say about last night's game. Not a single thing. No silver lining today. While Thursday's 4-1 game felt like a game that should have been closer, last night's wasn't even close to the score. It should have been 8-0. Embarrassing performance.

The difference in speed and skill is ridiculous. The Jackets can't even catch up with a Wing to take the body. By the time they get there, the puck is long gone and on another stick. When they cheat to get on the man, the puck is passed even more quickly, and almost always on target.

I won't lie. They broke my spirit last night. I spent about 15 minutes facedown on the living room floor sulking (and cursing) after the game. I'm broken. I can't do it anymore. :sad2:

The good news is that my concerns about being out of town next Monday and not being able to attend game 6 have been put to bed. I'd be absolutely ecstatic at this point if there were even a game 6 to be missed. This is why you don't want to Wings. They had their chances to avoid them and choked on it. May be down 2-0 to Vancouver instead of Detroit, but I don't think it would be nearly so painful to watch.

I didn't see the game, but this is their first time into the playoffs and they are playing a team that might just take it all. Give 'em some support in Columbus, guys.
It's not so much about giving them support but Columbus looked like a AHL team last night against the Wings. The post above yours summed up the game very nicely:!

Pretty sure the next two games are sold out in Columbus, they'll have the support. But I'm afraid that the crowd will be out of it fast if they play like they did last night.

Other than the 40% that will be rooting for Detroit. :sad2:
