Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

Pretty sure the next two games are sold out in Columbus, they'll have the support. But I'm afraid that the crowd will be out of it fast if they play like they did last night.

Other than the 40% that will be rooting for Detroit. :sad2:

Forgot about that. :shake:

sorry guys.

A couple more successful years will alleviate that problem though.

I have nothing positive to say about last night's game. Not a single thing. No silver lining today. While Thursday's 4-1 game felt like a game that should have been closer, last night's wasn't even close to the score. It should have been 8-0. Embarrassing performance.

The difference in speed and skill is ridiculous. The Jackets can't even catch up with a Wing to take the body. By the time they get there, the puck is long gone and on another stick. When they cheat to get on the man, the puck is passed even more quickly, and almost always on target.

I won't lie. They broke my spirit last night. I spent about 15 minutes facedown on the living room floor sulking (and cursing) after the game. I'm broken. I can't do it anymore. :sad2:

The good news is that my concerns about being out of town next Monday and not being able to attend game 6 have been put to bed. I'd be absolutely ecstatic at this point if there were even a game 6 to be missed. This is why you don't want to Wings. They had their chances to avoid them and choked on it. May be down 2-0 to Vancouver instead of Detroit, but I don't think it would be nearly so painful to watch.
my question is about cycling the puck. columbus has one of the better cycles in the league and i havent seen it yet, maybe 3 or so times..

i mean columbus had 34 pims last night but mostly on dumb stupid penalties. 34-8 in pims last night, thatswhat happens when you cahse the puck.

someone needs to step up, you cant allow datsyuk to get his cheap shots in, or zetterberg to ankle slash. cant let that happen, mason got defensive on holstrom last night and gave him a couple of could shoves after he repeatedly laid the "future generations" check on mason...

still have to wonder on line up changes...

I haven't seen it, but I guess Don Cherry on CBC was grumbling about the poor officiating in Saturday's game during the pre-game for MTL-BOS. No link that I can find.

Gotta win a damn board battle every now and again to keep it rolling. Lately, even when they get it cycling, more times than not it seems to end in a piss-poor pass to the point that starts an odd-man rush the other way.

I did not hear any confirmation of what Commodore did to get the misconduct. any word on the infraction, I hope he got a shot on someone

I assumed from the 2 for unsportsmanlike that he said something to an official, then said something more to get the misconduct.

I don't think that's the one. The e-mail I got said it was before the CBJ game was even over and it showed a couple of the penalties called on Columbus with Cherry talking about what weak calls they were.

The deed is half-done. My hair is now orange. As soon as she gets here, I'm going to sucker one of the ladies into going after it with a curling iron. White bath robe is on hand. I'm ready for this.
