And to expound on that terribly insightful post...

First. Fuck a Predator, especially the little cannibal bastard. Although, I have to say, 22 was surprisingly well-behaved last night. He only caught my eye a couple times and wasn't acting like the bitch he usually is. Must not be his time of month.

Good physical game. No stupid penalties, although I thought they could have called a couple more either way. Solid defensive play and coverage for the most part, although Tyutin cost us the one goal trying to keep in and failing miserably. If you're going to jump that pass with 2 men behind you, you better make the play.

Finally, crashing the net = goals. I love the tic-tac-toe passes when they are working, but sometimes, you gotta just get it on net and go get the rebounds. No goals on the cute plays, 2 goals crashing for rebounds. Keep going to the net, boys!

Mason had a couple of sick glove saves last night. The one off a rebound in the 3rd (either on the 5-3 or PP) was tremendous. The guy was all alone and got a good whack on it. There was another in the second period when they came with the odd man rush. Mason was coming across the net and the shot was pegged for the post he was leaving and made a great grab on it. Nice to see him play better after Sunday's debacle.

Vancouver has passed Calgary for the 3 spot. I'd rather see a 3-6 matchup with Calgary. Hopefully the Flamers can get that spot back.

3. VAN - 93 points, 6 games left
4. CAL - 92, 6
5. CHI - 91,7
6. CBJ - 88, 5
7. ANH - 84, 5
8. NSH - 84, 5
9. STL - 83, 6
10. MIN - 81, 5
11. EDM - 81, 5
12. DAL - 78, 5
.
.
.
15. COL - 64, 6 - 1 point in their last 7 games: 3-13-1 in their last 17. Ouch. Red Wing fans everywhere cry for the Avs pain.

Tonight's game of note:
StL @ CHI - Go Hawks!

Tomorrow's games of interest:
StL @ DET -
CAL @ DAL - Stars are 10 back of the CBJ - go Stars!
SJ @ EDM - Damnit, Sharks. Would you beat somebody already?
ANH @ VAN - Go Canucks.

syracuse fans are made about the nikita recall. lets face it folks.
1-its a minor league team, yes they should try and win but the goal is to get the big club to win
2-nikita needs to work on his strength. working with barry will help him. hes 170ish now and needs to be close to 185 or so to play at the nhl level. pakcing on good solid way is what nikita needs. and the fact that the club has decided hell basically make the team next yera and they expect to be in the hunt next year. they want nikita to understand the intensity needed (practice, off the ice, games) needed to compete at this level. they feel he can learn more at this point taggin along with guys like vermette and nash than he can going on a ppg clip in the cuse.

For season ticket holders, playoff tickets go on sale tommorrow. I was going to wait because I didn't want to jinx it, but they are $30.00/piece for the upper deck.

If we don't make the playoffs, I'll feel awful about it.

Depending on the night, Detroit has no goal tending and/or no defense.

Tonight was more of the no-defense sort of game.

And no, they aren't going anywhere in the playoffs either and I personally think they are going down in the 1st round.

Weren't you Detroit fans saying similar things last year before the playoffs? I thought I remembered hearing/reading a lot of concern.

Turned out terribly. I must say. :(

Last year it was worry about Hasek holding up for the grind. As we saw he was having issues even having the puck hit him by blind luck and Osgood stepped in.

during the regular season by and large he was just fine.

StL 5 - Det 4 :shake:
Cal 2 - Dal 1 :shake:
SJ 2 - Edm 1 :)
Anh 6 - Van 5 :shake:

Cgy clinched a spot last night. Tied with Vancouver at 94 points with 5 games left.

3. CAL/VAN - 94, 5
5. CHI - 93, 6
6. CBJ - 88, 5
7. ANH - 86, 4
8. STL - 85, 4
9. NSH - 84, 5
10. MIN - 81, 5
11. EDM - 81, 4

Edmonton is pretty much done. It would take a miracle. Minnesota is in slightly better position, but it would take a near-miracle.

Remaining schedules:

CBJ:
4/4 - @ NSH
4/5 - vs. CHI
4/8 - @ CHI
4/10 - @ STL
4/11 - vs. MIN

ANH:
4/5 - @ SJ
4/6 - vs. SJ
4/10 - vs. DAL
4/11 - @ PHX

STL:
4/4 - @ DAL
4/7 - @PHX
4/10 - vs. CBJ
4/12 - @ COL

NSH:
4/3 - @ CHI
4/4 - vs. CBJ
4/7 - vs. CHI
4/9 - @ DET
4/10 - vs. MIN

Tonights' games:
CGY @ MIN - at this point, catching CGY would be very difficult, and it would be nice to have the Wild eliminated (more-or-less). Plus, If the CBJ can hold onto the 6-seed, I'd rather see Calgary than Vancouver. Go Flamers!
NSH @ CHI - Hmmm...real tough call here. Go Hawks!
