Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

The Flames are done.

This isn't like Detroit just skating around and trying not to get hurt, Calgary is actually trying to win their division and can't seem to keep the puck out of their net.

Chicago is showing some life now too finally.

The team to watch for is Minny. If they get some scoring down the stretch here, the last CBJ game against them could be very very interesting. Let us all hope the CBJ have taken care of business and clinched by then.

Calgary going into a nose dive to finish the season would be the best thing for the Jackets right now. We would need to gain 6 points on them to tie their points total, which is a tall order, but not out of the question. I'm thinking CGY would do no better than 4 points over their remaining games (LA, @ VAN, @ EDM, EDM), and if they can't put away the Kings, it could get real ugly. CBJ has one game in hand over the Flames, which helps, but we would still pretty much have to win out to have a chance to move up to the 5 spot. I"m not sure what the current tie-breaker rules are, I"m guessing total wins would be the first, which would not help us much (44-40 CGY, as of today), but I think we have the head to head (2-1-1 CBJ). I don't see VAN giving up the 3 spot (LA once, and COL twice in their last 5 games), and they are the team I would like to avoid in the 1st round.

Nashville ties it (actually, Peca tied it.. :(), then Novotny put it in an open net after a nice pass by Voracek. 2-1. Pretty good game, Jackets are doing a pretty good job of controlling the puck, much like the game against Nashville earlier this week.

Dallas up 1-0 on the Blues in the first. :banger:

this is nothing short of a gag job in progress by the Jackets.

You CAN'T give up 2 goal leads when you are fighting for a playoff spot road game or not.

A couple bad breaks for the Jackets. Scoring two on your own net is going to put you in a bad position. But I agree.

And now Nashville has gone into shutdown mode with a 1-2-2 trap AND forcing all of the shots from outside of the dots which Columbus seems all too happy to give them.

SCORE!!!!

I quoted you to bitch about the Jackets, but I'll hold off on that.

Blues are getting a point no matter what. (EDIT: Blues lost, still picked up a point though)

Dare I say that was the most important goal in CBJ history?
