Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

Games of note coming up:

Tonight:
LA @ CGY

Tomorrow:

DAL @ MIN - MIN cannot catch the CBJ, but it would be nice to have them done for
LA @ EDM - EDM cannot catch the CBJ, but it would be nice to have them done for
CHI @ NSH - Uh, yeah....tough call....who to root for...who to root for.....hmmm....
STL @ PHX - Hoooooooooowl!
CGY @ VAN

A win Tuesday night by CHI would be really nice. One, it would hurt Nashville. Two, it would clinch the 4-seed for the hawks, so they can run out a line-up of scrubs Wednesday night. I would be more than okay with that. Even if they lose, they can still clinch #4 with a pair of CGY losses or a VAN loss. (Not sure on tie-breakers for the 4-seed, so OTL's might be okay, too for CGY and VAN).

Blue Jackets Xtra : A path to the postseason
With three games remaining, the Blue Jackets could finish as high as fifth in the Western Conference, but there still are ways for them to miss the Stanley Cup playoffs. Here is a look at possible scenarios, based on the number of points available to the Jackets:

• Clinch No. 5 seed if Vancouver finishes 1-2-0 or worse
5 POINTS (2-0-1)
• Clinch no worse than No. 6 seed
• Clinch No. 5 seed if Vancouver finishes 0-2-1 or worse
4 POINTS (2-1-0 OR 1-0-2)
• Clinch no worse than No. 6 seed
• Clinch No. 5 seed if Vancouver finishes 0-3-0
3 POINTS (1-1-1 OR 0-0-3)
• Clinch No. 6 seed
2 POINTS (1-2-0 OR 0-1-2)
• Clinch No. 6 seed if Anaheim (two games remaining), Nashville (three) or St. Louis (three) loses any of their remaining games
• Clinch No. 7 seed if one of the following -- Anaheim, Nashville or St. Louis -- wins all of their remaining games
• Clinch No. 8 seed if two of the following -- Anaheim, Nashville or St. Louis -- win all of their remaining games
• Eliminated if Anaheim, Nashville and St. Louis win their remaining games
1 POINT (0-2-1)
• Clinch No. 6 seed if Anaheim loses one game in regulation or both games in overtime or shootout, if Nashville loses one game in regulation or two or more games in overtime or shootout, or if St. Louis loses one game in regulation or two or more games in overtime or shootout
• Clinch No. 7 seed if one of the following scenarios occurs: Anaheim finishes 2-0-0 or 1-0-1, Nashville finishes 3-0-0, or St. Louis finishes 3-0-0 or 2-0-1
• Clinch No. 8 seed if two of the following scenarios occur: Anaheim finishes 2-0-0 or 1-0-1, Nashville finishes 3-0-0, or St. Louis finishes 3-0-0 or 2-0-1
• Eliminated if all of the following occur: Anaheim finishes 2-0-0, Nashville finishes 3-0-0 and St. Louis finishes 3-0-0 or 2-0-1
0 POINTS (0-3-0)
• Clinch No. 6 seed if all of the following scenarios occur: Anaheim loses both games or loses one in regulation and the other in overtime or shootout, Nashville loses one game in regulation, and St. Louis loses two games or loses one in regulation and one in overtime or shootout
• Clinch No. 7 seed if one of the following scenarios occurs: Anaheim wins only one game, Nashville finishes 3-0-0 or 2-0-1, or St. Louis wins two games or wins one and loses the others in overtime or shootout
• Clinch the No. 8 seed if two of the following scenarios occur: Anaheim wins only one game, Nashville finishes 3-0-0 or 2-0-1, or St. Louis wins two games or wins one and loses the others in overtime or shootout
• Eliminated if all of the following occur: Anaheim wins only one game, Nashville finishes 3-0-0 or 2-0-1, and St. Louis wins two games or wins one and loses the other two in overtime or shootout
-- Aaron Portzline

bottomline, win and youre in.

So does anyone know if the game Wednesday night (or Friday night) will be on TV instead of the damned Reds?

Right now, if the schedule holds, the Jackets won't be on TV in Columbus. Instead they will get the Cavs and/or the goddamned Reds. :shake:

They were giving channels for DirecTV and the Dish Network during their last televised game. I could not understand why they were doing that since they have never mentioned channels on those two systems before. You might want to check with your DirecTV operator.

I will agree with you regarding Springfield:!

I can't tell if they are televised or not.

On the program guide released at the beginning of the season they are listed as being on Fox Sports Ohio. I looked on my channel guide tonight and the Cavs are scheduled on Fox Sports Ohio and the Reds are scheduled on Fox Sports Cincy.

I have Dish so does anyone know if they are using alternate channels to show the Blue Jackets? I can't find anything on the Fox Sports Ohio web site other than the pre season television schedule (which says they are supposed to be on tomorrow).

That's what I'm seeing with DirecTV too.

It's bad enough I have to left all football season with the fucking Bengals. If I miss the CBJ possibly getting into the playoffs for a team that is going to lose 100 games this year that MIGHT be enough to force me to move.
