Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

Malkin just jacked his jaw on the goal post while trying to interfere with Mason. I hope he has his face amputated!

Yea, he was clearly trying to interfere Mason, while wearing Commode on his back. :roll1:

Great game. With the way they're playing, they should be selling that barn out.

haha hmm... for once I've come onto Buckeye planet and into enemy territory.

What I saw from the game...

I think Columbus plays a nice game of hockey for sure. In saying that though I feel the pens in the first two periods were playing out of their element. Being Physical is nice, but we (the pens) were very undisciplined. After that power play goal it just seemed liked the ice opened up for whatever reason. I thought the Pens started playing their game, and Columbus got caught trying to play a style that doesn't suite them.

I won't complain about the loss because we did come back from 3-0 to tie it and getting one point is all you really can ask for in that kind of situation.

Here's hoping Columbus/Pittsburgh can both get into the playoffs because I believe both teams can really do some damage.

Also geez I think the crowd was 1/2 penguin fans haha... For sure Pittsburgh travels surprisingly well for a hockey team.

Personally I thought on a couple of those Roughing calls on the pens that a Columbus guy should've gone with them but hey whatever..

Malkin was also just going to the net hard, and you can see he does get pushed as well. So I mean it's kinda hard to stop on a dime when someone shoves you in the back.

If Malkin's gonna get a penalty for that then Commador should've gotten another one for shoving his face into the crossbar haha...

What an Exciting game though.. I had the adrenaline going and it definately had the feel of a playoff game.

Nash is one scary mofo too..

Disagree with the first. The shove was meaningless, Malkin never turned his blades to even try to stop.

Agree with the 2nd however. Commodore should have had a holding call on that one.

Agree with the bolded parts. Some of the roughing calls on the Pens were started by the Jackets. It was bullshit. There was so much booing that it sounded like it was against the home team...

Something else I noticed. When the Pens stopped worrying and whining about the refs calls, they outplayed Columbus (kinda like games 3 and 4 in the SCF last summer)

It took a couple of periods, but when it happened they tied it up pretty quickly.

If that had been the only time that Malkin took a run at Mason, I would have said he got rode into him. Since the Pens 3rd period strategy was to put Mase on his back, I say he got what he deserved.

I think the third period strategy was to get as many shots as possible.. there were two situations with Mason that I can remember.. both were tough to prevent.

LOL at you guys saying that Malkin was trying to interfere with Mason. There were multiple bull[censored] calls tonight from where I was sitting......

Great game though. It was 50/50 as far as fans go.

I'm sure the atmosphere there was AWESOME! 3rd period scared me a bit... As soon as the Penguins started heating up, I was worried. Thankfully the Jackets fought through and got those points! They could make an honest push for the 4 seed with Chicago on the schedule 4 times of the remaining 14 games. But going 2-2 would satisfy me...

GO JACKETS!

I see Malkin has picked up some of the classless bullshit from Crysby...he's better than that he didn't need to truck Mason like he did....

They both spent a shit ton of time....I'll be kind and call it pleading...with the officials. It was constant.

New single game attendance record set tonight with over 19,100.

The roughing at the end of the first was cheap as shit. Just a little push as Methot went by. Weak call.

The one on....damn....Letain?.....against Novotny....I thought was legit. He decked Novotny cleanly in the neutral zone, Novotny came down and put a clean hit on him and Letain went back at him.....

The other roughing call...out near the Pittsburgh bench...I didn't see clearly....no clue what happened there.

I thought the goalie interference was a pretty weak call, but I only saw it live. Looked accidental to me.
