Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

i dont have a clip. from memory chara had a free hand on juice and he threw a right handed wrap with his stick on juice. it hit him in the legs and juice fell. personally it may have been a soft call. it wasnt a world class dive that is for sure.

i dont have youtube here. ill get you a youtube clip of a slewfoot general. and ill look for this (chara/juice) incident on youtube.

Oh, I know what a slew-foot is. I just figured if Charra had one arm wrapped around his upper body, he must have tripped him with a leg. Normally, a one-handed stick chop from that close wouldn't be enough to bring a guy down. Of course, Charra's a huge guy. Slew-footing is usually grounds for a 5 min major, and possibly an ejection, IIRC.

lately it goes uncalled.

chara had him with his hand extended, almost stretched out and threw a wrap style slap check at the puck that rode up and hit juice in the legs. honestly it could have been a call or no call. i ddint think it was a dive. and if it wasnt going to result in change of poession i doubt it would have been called.

nesn is known for being a tad redic from time to time.

Adam Foote slew footed Rick Nash during the one game the pussy played against the Blue Jackets this year didn't he?

I feel alone with my lack of hatred for Adam Foote. :(

I don't hate him, either. I don't put a whole lot of credibility into what the Dispatch said last year. I believe there's some truth to it, but I just don't see it going down like they said it did.

It does amuse me that he hasn't come to Columbus either time the Av's played here.

Mason is questionable for tonight's game, according to the Fan.

Don't think this has been mentioned in the thread yet. Sorry if it has been.

Agree. He always seemed like a great guy to me. I remember having a discussion about the Foote family with jo4h while Adam was still on the team. Sounded like that entire family was good for the CBJ and the city. His dad was the most down to earth guy, ever. Had a solid 30 minute conversation with him about things, not just hockey. It was great.

/reminisce

It is kind of funny that he didn't come to Columbus. I will admit.

what im going to say about this. i think their is some constructionist aspect to the foote thing. columbus has no rival. detroit might be columbus' rival but columbus will never be detroits rival. (see penn state-ohio state).

columbus gave foote a nmc (maybe it was a ntc-same difference). he said what it would take to resign him. columbus didnt want to pay that. foote said ill accept a trade to only one team. something he had every right and legal ability to do.

so i dont have a problem with it, though i do think it has added a spark to that game.

adam did a lot of great things for columbus, he liked the city, his wife did not though. she was confused it was a hicktown along a cow path. which in some/most respects is true.

result: we traded essentially umberger for foote. a trade id advocate for everyday.

/end random ramblings.

I liked Adam, but Foote for Umberger is nice.

I didn't hate him when he was on the CBJ.

Now I hate him for being on the Bitchalance, but not because of anything he's really done.

He didn't really do anything wrong. Columbus wasn't going to give him what he wanted, and the CBJ were able to get a 1st rounder out of trading him (trust me he WASN'T worth a first rounder but Colorado has a horrible GM).

Columbus won. End of story. Honestly the Dmen they have now fit better into Hitch's system anyway. Footer wasn't quite a square peg, but he didn't quite fit right either.

And it gave Nash the C. Now it's Nash's team.

2-0 Good guys at the 2nd intermission. Goal by Williams in the last minutes of the 2nd, assisted by Vermette (which I believe gives him a point in each game as a BJ). Mason looking for his 10th shutout.

That was a hell of a player by Vermette.

I think I may have underestimated him. He doesn't need to be a superstar, he just needs to be steady. He's been that and more.

Big 3rd period coming up.

yeah...look at this schedule too...

@ Nash tonight
@ Det on Saturday (it's in Detroit so that means probable L)
vs Boston on Tuesday (Boston is looking mortal these days but still a tough matchup)
vs Pit on Thursday (likely L)
AT Chi on Friday (ouch)
vs Detroit on Sunday (it's in Columbus, so that means maybe a W)
vs Chicago on Wednesday the 18th (ouch again)
Then finally on the 21st it's @ Florida which is the easiest game in the stretch but Florida doesn't suck either.

That's a hell of a two week schedule. I'll be shocked if they get any more than 6 points out of those 8 games. I've been wrong before, but damn....

If they get to the playoffs, they will have earned it.

Great call dickhead :smash: :smash:
