Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

a killing....

and you thin they need vinnie to keep nash?

Not necessarily.

But I'm thinking that Toronto is going to throw a ton of $$$ just like Burke did in Anaheim and Nash is going to be on their target list.

Columbus will have to make itself more attractive IMO.

LeCav or no, Columbus needs to go out and do something to get this team over the hump.

no doubt they need more to put a cup team out there. but are armband (21), jake (20), methot (24), tyutin (25), nash (24), mason (20), etc a bigger part of that? the average age of the team is 25. 27th in the league...

Sure it is, at least it's a start. the question is will Rick Nash want to hang around for another couple years to see if that talent pans out or does he bolt....

right now I say he'll bolt. But Howson can prevent it.

this team wont be built on skill. it will be built to check. check to win. it wont win pretty games like the wings. but its the style that cant take detroit out of their game and a style that can win you games.

interesting point i guess on nash.

You can find another power forward who is a playmaker who will also check and do the dirty work. No one is saying Howson would or should trade for a Paul Kariya type....

I guess the point boils down too, do you want to keep an exceptional player within the system or try to fit a guy who has some skill and some grit, but doesn't quite fit into the system.....

no doubt. keep in mind you have brassard on ir with his shoulder. i agree you still need more talent. but i dont think a guy like vinnie is the answer... id think guys of the "tyutin" mold. good contracts, good young underrated talents.

as it stands today id wager nash signs a long term deal
