Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

don't go back. :p

5-2 Stars at the end of 2. Not good. What happened to Mase? Pulled in the 1st period? (just looking at the box score).

Needed to show up against a playoff contender. :(

Thoughts on game

Mason was pulled after the 3rd goal within I believe 12 minutes of the 1st period. They fought back to make it 3-2 and we had all the momentum. But once we went down 4-2, it was over. Almost all of Dallas' goals were garbage rebounds or lucky bounces unfortunately we couldn't contain the puck after a shot.

Atmosphere
I had an absolute blast. Went with 5 other guys and we drank beer and ate hotdogs all night (Dollar Dog Night). What a blast. Plus taking a cab made it 100x's better so we didn't have designate a driver. The fans are fun and energetic when we weren't getting killed. I can't wait for my next game. Maybe Detroit 2/13?

Tough game.

Mase has been carrying this team and needs a quality back up so that he can get some rest. Not sure that Dubli 'what's his name' is the guy.

Steve Ott needs a good old fashioned punk rock beating. Dude went after Nasher's knee last night. He has a history of this type of play.

Need to rebound on Tuesday against St. Louis.

I have tickets to that game. If you go to it, let me know.

Dubli is fine as a backup since Mason will get the majority of the time.

Last night was all about winning the battles along the boards and getting to the loose pucks. Columbus looked like a team on the back end of a back to back, which they were. Add a couple of bad bounces and a couple of mistakes and there you have it.

Fuck the world for putting me in a position where I'm rooting for Nashville and Detroit to win games. :pissed:

5-way tie for 6th at 53 points.

CBJ - 50 games played - 24 wins
Wild - 49 - 25
Oil - 49 - 25
Dallas - 48 - 23
Phoenix - 51 - 24

Ducks have 55 points in 52 games for 5th
Vancouver lurking with 52 points in 50 games

Preds/Avs/Kings hanging around with 47 points each

after the "effort" against Dallas, this is yet another piss poor performance so far.

You HAVE TO beat the teams below you if you are going to make any type of run to the playoffs. This is about the time that the Jackets folded last year too. Should be interesting....

and God knows he tries hard, but if you are forced to put Chimera out there on your 2nd power play line when his skill set is more suited to a checking line, you are in need of a top 6 forward desperately.

I wonder what Tampa wants for Lecavlier....that might be the only thing that keeps Nash as a Blue Jacket is to pair him up with another legit star....

St Louis has beaten Boston in Boston, Chicago in Chicago and lost in a shootout to Detroit in Detroit over the past 2 weeks or so. They are playing well recently no matter how bad their overall record is.

This wasn't a gimmie.

St. Louis was on the back end of a road back to back.

They came out REALLY flat to start the game, but the Jackets let them back into it.

Once St. Louis tied it up at 2, the wind went out of the crowd and the players until that 5 minute major. St. Louis was able to dictate the flow of the game.
