Although not finalized, Mike Peca is expected to meet with NHL commissioner Gary Bettman on Thursday. Bettman has the power to alter Peca's automatic 10-game suspension for abuse of an official. - TSN

Blue Jackets general manager Scott Howson plans to visit goaltending coach Clint Malarchuk in the hospital today in Reno, Nev. Howson has spoken daily to Malarchuk's wife, Joan, after Malarchuk shot himself in the chin last week. Howson said he will fly back to San Jose before tonight's game. - Columbus Dispatch

Center Jiri Novotny said his neck was sore and stiff yesterday, two days after he was elbowed in the head on a hit by Phoenix's Shane Doan. Novotny's head slammed into the boards. "I'll be able to play (tonight), for sure," Novotny said. "I haven't seen the replay, but somebody told me it looked like an elbow right to my head. I tried to stand up. But for one or two seconds, I just wasn't right. My legs were weak. I felt sleepy. Now, it's OK." - Columbus Dispatch

Now that is what deserves a 10 game suspension or possibly longer. Just because an official got touched is ridiculous and this type of action could have led to a very serious injury.

Well it would be a great confidence builder to come home after this road trip 2-1, with wins v Dallas and San Jose, two of the top teams in the entire league. Pretty good first period, up 1-0 with the goal from Huselius on the PP. One goal definitely won't cut it tonight though.

2-1 sure would be a nice start.

That should have been a delay of game right there. BS. We need another goal.
