Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

Sigh.

The Pens ended on a fantastic note and it looked like the Jackets were going to play a good game. So much for both of my teams winning tonight. :(

They've looked pretty bad on the defensive end tonight.. they've actually had a few solid chances on the offensive side.

They absolutely must get better behind their own net. They are getting their asses hand to them back there every night. As far as I can tell, Leclaire should never ever venture back there again. :smash:

The play through the neutral zone seems to be better, breaking up a lot of passes and creating some odd-man rushes. Gotta convert some of those. Talking to you, jo. That's at least 3 shorthanded breakaways with no goals. :shake:

Actually, if someone had said the CBJ would go into Friday night 1-2 off that road trip I would have said that's about right. I didn't think the win would come against Dallas, though.

Played a so so game against Phoenix after an emotional overtime victory against a team that should contend for the cup in Dallas.

Didn't play well last night, though. That was crap.

Would be nice to get some calls so the refs don't cost the Jackets the game. :shake:

Kiddin' jo.
gotta rise above the way the game is called. thats not an excuse. calls were missed both ways as they always are.

but-why did they have the same refs as in dallas? i mean you know their is already a controversy about with those guys. and not only that now the guys with orange thingys on their arms have backed down from peca hitting a linesman with his stick... i mean seriously...

without manny, peca and torres. 2 of your top 4 pk forwards, your best guys in the fo circle. if the team can muddle around and get half the points on the table for awhile hopefully then chemistry clicks, a few guys get healthy and their will be a resolution in the peca thing now that the refs are no longer saying the linesman was struck with a stick... its been a little tough with 4 of the first 5 on the road, suspensions, two injuries (hey they happen) and clints ordeal. its a good time to focus and hopefully galvanize a group of guys who havent played together. the nash-rj-juice line put up 19 shots last night. brassard and jake have seen ice time skyrocket to 16 and 14 mins each. the defensive pairings havent synced up yet (sometimes they never do...). im optimistic. 2-3 or 3-2 after the b2b with nashville this weekend will be an acceptable start. you cant make the playoffs early but you can get elminated early, as the old saying goes...

Meeting regarding Peca is today, right?

Do you think we can expect him back for Friday? I mean he has already been out for 3 1/2 games. IMO he shouldn't have missed any.
thrusday morning/midday. they had an issue getting the player, official and (nhlpa, nhl excs, etc) with a time when they could have meeting. granted im no rocket scientist but peca and the officials were at the game last night in san jose, the same dallas officials did the game last night... hmm, not rocket science but yes.

hell miss at least one more game-min, imo.

That was just me messing with you, I wasn't serious.

I didn't realize they were the same refs. Didn't pay attention to that.
