Blue Jackets goaltender Fredrik Norrena guards the ice as Shane Doan of the Coyotes looks to shoot. Coming in to try to break up the play is defenseman Adam Foote.

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Embattled Blue Jackets goaltender Fredrik Norrena wanted his teammates to know they could trust him in the desperate times they find themselves.
Norrena certainly gained some trust last night. With Pascal Leclaire home nursing a sprained neck, Norrena played with composure and confidence in helping the Jackets earn a 2-1 win over the Phoenix Coyotes in Jobing.Com Arena.

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The text messages and cell-phone calls still arrive almost daily.
In that way, nothing really has changed between Blue Jackets forward Rick Nash and good friend Jody Shelley.
Nash knows things will be profoundly different tonight in San Jose, however, when he sees hulking No. 45 in a teal sweater for the first time.

Sergei Fedorov's lingering concussion problem hits the Blue Jackets hard in two ways. The longer he's out, the harder it becomes for the team to make the playoffs; his skill and experience are invaluable at this time of the year. But if the Jackets were to fall out of the playoff hunt, their plan probably was to trade Fedorov at the deadline, because the soon-to-be unrestricted free agent figured to have some value for playoff-bound teams.

Let's see if I can get this to work...

What a cheap shot. I wouldn't have minded Boll (or Shelley in times past) taking a run at someone (Mueller) after that.

Exhibit A why the instigator penalty has to go.

If the instigator penalty isn't in effect, OKT comes in with his gloves up and fists up and likely DOESN'T get hurt unless it happens in the coming fight. But as it was he came up with his hands down and gloves on to avoid the instigator penalty (and subsequent match penalty) and will end up missing a week or two.

Great rule huh? :pissed:

only the Jackets I guess...

27-5 shots on goal advantage after 2 periods, they are absolutely carrying the play and playing most of the game in either neutral ice or in the Sharks zone, yet they are losing 1-0.

Nabokov is standing on his head. Chimera has been robbed a couple times as has Nash and Zherdev.
