Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

a point against San Jose isn't a bad thing considering....

I wonder if Zherdev is one of the guys who has had Bronchitis this week, he doesn't look like he has a ton of energy this week.....

60 points at this point in time isn't a death knell, they are still in the hunt and the teams in front of them all have their flaws as well. That Washington game really hurts now - they had that one wrapped up at 2-0 and then again at 3-2 but couldn't hold it.

The Columbus Dispatch

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- The Blue Jackets accounted for Jody Shelley's hulking presence every place except where they least expected it.
On the scoresheet.
It was that kind of zany night in the HP Pavilion for the frustrated Jackets and their jubilant former teammate. The Jackets dominated the action. Shelley and the San Jose Sharks won the game, 2-1 in overtime.

The Columbus Dispatch

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Blue Jackets defenseman Ole-Kristian Tollefsen got hit with a haymaker Thursday night.
Yesterday, the concussed Tollefsen was on the receiving end of a stern jab from a concerned coach.
Ken Hitchcock was relieved that his young defenseman escaped serious injury when Phoenix winger Craig Weller punched Tollefsen in the jaw. In trying to avenge a hit on teammate Rick Nash, however, Tollefsen charged across the ice at Weller with his arms down and gloves on.

OKT had to watch out for the instigator penalty even though Weller had essentially started everything that happened.

That's why the stupid ass Euro rule needs to go. IF you board anyone you should expect to have his teammates take exception to it. To not allow the teammates to come in firing allows garbage like what Weller pulled.

Instigator rule remains issue
Jackets know firsthand it has flaws

The Columbus Dispatch

As he rushed across the ice, Ole-Kristian Tollefsen went from committed to conflicted to concussed in a matter of five seconds.
The Blue Jackets defenseman had just watched teammate Rick Nash slammed face-first into the glass Thursday night by Phoenix's Craig Weller. Tollefsen planned to avenge the hit, but as he approached Weller he worried about getting an instigator penalty, which might put his team short-handed and count toward a future suspension.

Blue Jackets goaltender Pascal Leclaire says he's ready to play tonight against the Kings.

For 75 minutes yesterday, Blue Jackets goaltender Pascal Leclaire fended off pucks fired by coach Clint Malarchuk, injured left winger Fredrik Modin and Modin's 6-year-old son, Jesper.

Afterward, Leclaire deemed his sprained neck to be "very playable," saying he's "ready to go, ready to play" tonight against the Los Angeles Kings in Nationwide Arena.
