You would think it was a road game the way the Jackets played. They stared out slow in the 1st period, slowly "petered out" in the 2nd, and died in the 3rd.
New this year:
a. They have full size "goal" cannon that they shoot off when the Jackets score. Nice feature.
b. They started off with some intoduction video and spot light on the ice called "Carry the Flag". It sucked.
My $5 parking lot was gone. However, I did find a $6 parking garage on Vine Street. It was right beside Gibby's Restaurant & Bar, which is where I ate before the game. Gibby's is a nice little "sports bar" etc. The garage is fairly close to the arena and it was easy to get out of after the game.

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH
Blue Jackets fans dejected by a 0-3-1 swoon might want to brace themselves for a wild ride.
The season could be filled with surprising highs, like the 8-3-2 start, and frustrating lows, like the 4-1 loss Monday to the Nashville Predators that had 2003-04 written all over it.
Here's the theory: The Blue Jackets, despite years of picking high in the draft, have fewer dynamic players than just about any other club in the Western Conference, save Phoenix.

possible late fight instigation, typically given to the team who is losing automatic one game and 10k fine to the coach. dont see it happening vandemeer might get it doubt nash will, i didnt see much of that fight i was watching rock em sock em robots in the stands? anyone else catch that? Its a fight. No reason for any suspension. He was on the ice when it started and wasn't the trird man in. It would be just the same as if it happened at the end of a period. He gets the 5 minute major on the the stat sheet and we all go happily ever after.
