Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

Note to the people not in Ohio. May be one of the few chances to catch the Blue Jackets on TV tonight. Digital cable usually provides a free preview to the NHL package. So catch em if you don't get the package.

Okay, we get him back after season but can't call him back should we have an injury this year (I'm understanding from what you wrote), correct?
correct, once in jrs, in jrs for the year. if one of pascal or freddie go down youll see a trade or tomas popperle

mr i, ill give you 1000vcash if we see mason this year.

a player is not eligble for the ahl until they are 20. so he cant go down there (like brule last year)

just a note the london knights are 0 and 6 and look awful. i think they might right the ship with mason in goal. but, the kid is going to feel like hes at a shooting range. id expect his numbers to drop drastically from last season. defensively, offensively they arent strong. lots of wholes, they have some horses but without kane and gager they need some plaerys to step up.

any other questions fire away

Phoenix is a team the CBJ should beat. Last year they would have struggled and possibly lost against them. 3-0 was the score, but outside of the shots on goal difference, the Jackets pretty much dominated this one.

This was the best game Nik Zherdev has played since at least last year, probably longer. He was physical, he was making decisions and he was strong with the puck. If he can play like that, it will really help the Jackets in the Central and the West.

If LeClaire can stay healthy, he's the 3rd best goalie in the Central (Ok I'm biased, but Hasek and Osgood are better due to experience primarily)......

Fred Squillante DISPATCH
Rookie Jared Boll, center, celebrates his first NHL goal with linemates Manny Malhotra and Jason Chimera in the third period.

Blue Jackets goaltender Pascal Leclaire deflected the praise like a 40 mph floater from the blue line.
Asked to describe the zone he's living in after back-to-back shutouts to start the season, Leclaire was quick to point out that his isn't a one-man act.
The Blue Jackets beat the Phoenix Coyotes 3-0 last night in Nationwide Arena on Leclaire's 32 saves, a checking line that scored all three goals and a defensive approach that only a goaltender could appreciate.

The Jackets' Rick Nash knocks the Coyotes' Derek Morris to the ice with a check in the first period.

Winger Jason Chimera invited rookie Jared Boll and several other teammates to his home Monday night to celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving.
The menu included turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and one mouth-watering prediction: Boll would score his first goal Wednesday.
"(Chimera) and Manny told me they were going to get me one," said Boll, flashing a goalpost-to-goalpost grin in the locker room.

If the LeClair thing doesn't work out in the goal, what are the chances of seeing Adam Burkhoel in the net? I think they are pretty good, the guy was like player of the year in the ECHL and he's a monster in the goal!

2 games, 2 wins, 120 minutes, 60 shots, 60 saves. Working pretty well right now. :groove:
