College Football Playoff (2015-16 Season)

I hate ND, but if they get in over a 1-loss ACC champion (particularly the conference queen bee, UNC) that won a CCG while ND sat home with their dicks in their hands, I am very interested to see how the relationship with ND and their current host conference develops. If ND getting in was the catalyst for P5 conferences to finally stop playing their bullshit game and hosting their non-football sports, it's a price I would eagerly pay.

As for Sagarin being a "talking head," don't be ridiculous. His computer models have proven to be terrific predictors of performance.
Sagarin is a stat-geek, not a talking head, but his models are no less flawed than any other rankings systems that rely solely on the numbers. Humans still know football better than any computer out there.

I'd think that the minn and Indiana game probably eliminate Michigan from backdooring in their way in if they somehow manage to win out. I personally think they lose against psu and osu, but if they keep the magic going I can't see them getting in.
Thanks for the reminder. I can handle MSU or Iowa as a big ten champ. We don't have to win it every year. I will lose my shit if ttun wins it. I will just feel better when someone beats them and ensures it's impossible for them to make the title game. I know, I know, we should beat them, but I'll just feel better when they lose again. PSU is a huge pain in the ass in an 8:00 game a home, here's for a white-out, GO BITCH LIONS!

The committee doesn't matter at all right now. The PAC is out. So a 1 loss champ from the other 4 conferences should be in. Notre dame may get the ACC spot, but I don't see them taking a spot over another 1 loss champ.
I see 2 loses in the cowboy's future. There will be a 1 loss champ Oklahoma, and I think they are safe. My pick to win it all right now. Getting hot at the right time.
Florida or Bama will get the reserved SEC spot. Only two one loss teams, but would love to see both drop a game just to enjoy the espin implosion. (FSU, Auburn and the title game that could happen). Both are playing with fire right now.
Clemson or UNC will get ACC spot. I hope it's either them or Notre Dame. Hopefully Stanford will take care of business. Notre dame is just pissing me off right now.
So long as ttun drops another one, Iowa, MSU, OSU should be safe for a spot even with a loss. TTUN playing with fire and I think they drop 2 more.

Committee has made it abundantly clear that ND is in without another loss. If Clemson wins out that's a spot each for ND and the regular ACC leaving two for the other 4 leagues.

Sagarin has 1-loss Bama #1 today fyi: his rankings are the equivalent of the eye-test, and everything that was wrong with the BCS.
So, two separate metrics (I'll add a third: College Football Outsiders and their S&P+ ratings) all agree that 'Bama is in the top 4, and you claim that is "evidence of everything that was wrong with the BCS."

Presumably you'd replace the entire system with a panel of Buckeye fans. Those who agree with you, that is.

Why don't we include ESPiN's laughable FPI while we're at it?

Just checked it for laughs...

I'm extremely disappointed that so many Buckeye fans here are ignoring multiple lines of evidence so they can go on their anti-SEC screeds.

Do I think the SEC has been overrated in past seasons? Yes. Are they overrated this season? I don't think so. SEC West is still IMO the strongest division in college football; any argument that the B1G East is better ignores the presence within it of Rutgers and Maryland, though I don't think we're that far behind even with those teams here.

People who whine about media "love" for the SEC are, I think, unnecessarily insecure. I think the Buckeyes remain the NC favorite (especially after watching Climpson struggle against a really weak Syracuse squad) and that these debates will become moot.

I don't know that I agree with that. You could have said the same thing of TCU until the final week last year. This is only 2 weeks into the 5.

Iowa and Oklahoma State are going to put a lot of pressure on ND and their 1 loss/no conference championship
