College Football Playoff (2015-16 Season)

Or in other words, six-loss VaTech 35, tOSU 21

Great teams sometimes have bad days, or bad matchups. And both Sagarin (#1) and College Football Outsiders (#2) have Bama in the top four. So it's not just the "eye test" here.

I asked you how do we know LSU is all that, seeing as how you decided Bama's 30-16 win over them proved their greatness. I'll ask again in light of this information:

Arkansas 21
LSU 0

2nd quarter

As for citing other people's opinions as validation of your own, pardon me if I'm unimpressed. Sagarin is just another talking head. Defend your own opinion next time, as I did previously (which you dutifully ignored). Good luck, Max.

OSU was neither a great nor a good team early in 2014. They were occasionally a good team later in the year. They were never a great team before heading to Indy.

I'd think that the minn and Indiana game probably eliminate Michigan from backdooring in their way in if they somehow manage to win out. I personally think they lose against psu and osu, but if they keep the magic going I can't see them getting in.

I think teams that play Alabama can usually be counted on to have a tough time in their next game.

As for Sagarin being a "talking head," don't be ridiculous. His computer models have proven to be terrific predictors of performance.

Finally, if I ignored something you said, I'm not especially surprised. I ignore lots of things you say. :sneaky:

Yeah, well ...

I don't think anyone with a brain, if they watched the Tide curb-stomp LSU tonight, thinks Alabama isn't one of the best four teams in the country.

The problem with making such broad statements based on one game is that comment could just as easily be about Arkansas tonight as it was Alabama last week. Of course, no one would suggest the Razorbacks are awesome even though they just beat LSU even worse than Alabama did.

Then again, maybe LSU wasn't all that in the first place?

Tell you what, let's revisit this after the playoffs are over. I'm thinking the Tide will do just fine (until the Buckeyes beat them again).

Yeah, but we're exceptional.
That really is the truth. The main reason why these undefeated teams have trouble the week after getting beaten by Bama isn't that they are sore and tired. It's that Bama exposed their weaknesses. Last year, oSU physically dominated that game. Bama had a few good run plays, which Oregon couldn't replicate. There wasn't really anything for the Bama coaching staff to expose.
