College Football Playoff (2015-16 Season)

Osu could drop as far as 6 based on the rankings from last week and this week's results. I don't think they will fall that far, but they could (Bama jumps, lsu stays ahead, ND jumps, OK St jumps). I'll say they drop to 4. Bama jumps, LSU falls, and I'll go with a wildcard here of OK State going to #3.
This is what I think it will be. I would say that it should be Clemson #1, probably OK State #2, and OSU #3. I've actually been more impressed with ND than I have Bama.

Okie State @ #2? What has impressed you? The 30-27 win over Texas? The 36-34 home win over KSU? Giving up 53 pts in regulation to TTU?

The committee will have to start moving Iowa, OkState and Baylor up but not that freaking far. I think the CFP voters have demonstrated a consistent, deep skepticism of the B12.

That said, it will be interesting to see, if things stay on the same course, that 4th spot may come down to 1 loss ND vs the team that emerges from B12 (OU, OkState)

Still too early to tell especially until we see how far they drop LSU (if any) and how much Florida is punished for that Vanderbilt debacle (if any).

My guess this week;
  1. Clemson
  2. OSU
  3. Bama
  4. ND
Iowa may break into top 6 depending on how strong the reflexive impulse to fellate the SEC remains. The ZOMGSEC!! dodged 2 major bullets yesterday but the state of Mississippi can still wreak havoc.

I was thinking the domination over the #8 team in the country in the month of November. You thinking OSU should be ahead of them because of their win over ranked... Oh yea, no one? Their domination of a good... Oh yeah, no one? Maybe their 7 point victory at home against NIU? Oh, I know. Maybe it was the goal line stand to win against IU. That was probably it. Also, for good measure a 14 point victory against MINNESOTA in NOVEMBER at HOME. That's a rock solid victory.

.

That Jimmy The Greek wanna-be that they have on Gameday actually made a very astute observation in saying that he won't predict Big 12 games because it's impossible to get a handle on those teams. Face it, that entire league has abandoned any attempts at playing defense. Would anyone have been terribly surprised if TCU had turned around and won that game 60-49. I get upsets, but the B12 is a joke. TCU--a supposed playoff contender--loses to OSU, who needed bad calls and bad kicks to get past a dumpster fire Texas team that TCU absolutely steamrolled. Texas scored 59 against Kansas, and they could very well come out and lose by 50 to WVU next week. Until the top teams in that league play some defense, they're not going to get any respect from the committee.

I was not defending tOSU. Based on their resume this season, I would have a hard time with that. I just see a very beatable team in Okie State.

Every team in the top 4, regardless of who you put looms very beatable! What's your point? Like @UpNorth_Buckeye said, what has made it seem like tOSU is even so tough? Weve barely played a full decent game outside of freaking Rutgers and maybe Penn St!

I was commenting on Okie State. That was my point. My original comment had zero to do with tOSU. Okie State has the nation's 46th best scoring defense (BTW better than TCU's 70th ranked defense). I think a top four team needs some balance.

I think the playoff committee will and should hammer Oklahoma State for their absolutely awful OOC schedule. Cent Mich, UTSA, and Central Arkansas? Come on. Central Arkansas is FCS, and 0-9.

And Alabama still lost, at home, to an unranked team. Yeah, if you erase that loss from memory then it looks like they and Clemson are 1 and 2. But that game happened. If you want to compare Bama to other one loss teams, fine, but this idea of jumping them above all these undefeated teams is silly. Especially when you have Iowa who has beaten two top 25 teams and HASNT LOST! I get that how a team is playing now is part of it. Eye test or whoever you want to call it. But the point of the game is to win. If we just overlook a loss because we decide that the team is actually much better than that, then why even keep score. Just see who looks best, and assign that team the win.

What the CFP will be this week I think:

Clemson
Alabama
Ohio State
Oklahoma State

What is should be:

Clemson
Ohio State
Iowa
Oklahoma State

This season is kind of shaping up like 2007, where there were no clearly great teams (and no undefeated teams at the end of the regular season). I expect a lot of turmoil down the stretch, with the playoff projections constantly changing.

I keep thinking 2007 myself

Clemson has left
WF
at SC
ACC CG most likely vs UNC

OkState:
@ ISU
Baylor
Oklahoma

we all know Ohio States schedule

Bama:
@MissState
at auburn
SEC CG (Florida)

Domers:
WF
@BC
@Stanford

Stanford
Cal
ND
Pac12 CG (utah)

The real kick in the nuts to the system would be Iowa who is Purdue, Nebraska and a B1G CG away from undefeated B1G champs

:lol:

Good luck figuring any of that out

EDIT:
Hell when you think about it freaking Florida has a shot with FSU and Bama left on their schedule

4 teams getting into a playoff has made this even more fun/interesting than it used to be
