College Football Playoff (2015-16 Season)

Obviously, they suffered a high quality loss, and are in the SECw, which is good for at least a bronze medal. Also, they played Alabama, which means their SOS is over 9000. All of this is good, but they are so far west that they really shouldn't be classified as Southeast, so they should be retroactively awarded the title from last year. It's the only logical thing to do.

Make sense?

I watched large parts of it and agree with you, it wasn't like they were burned in the past regardless of the total passing yards given up.

That said, Bama has only played two teams with an offensive passing pulse so far so that has to have something to do with the fewer than previous years torchings argument.

It gives us all something to talk about but I sense mostly everyone agrees this means jack squat at this point in the year.

We can make excuses for it, but the trend exists and they've got a L because of it.
The poll is near meaningless at this point, and we're fine regardless -- we handle business, we're in. Nothing to complain about there.
What I find annoying is how Alabama in particular gets mulligans. More shocking is that a neutral observer like yourself is willing to participate in pretending their losses never happened. They got a mulligan against LSU a couple years ago in the BCS system. Now CFP, a new system, is basically saying they'll continue to get those free passes and the only school in the country that can lose - and exhibit glaring faults while doing so - with no penalty whatsoever.

I was curious to see if CFP would dial back their lovefest for SEC West last year after the results. Apparently they haven't.
A lot of people here were saying Northwestern doesn't belong in the top25 (and there's definitely an argument there)... well, Ole Miss should be in that same category.

Ole Miss now having 3 losses should mean something to the committee's view of Alabama, but it won't.

If they beat LSU (and I think they match up well), the committee will lean on that and keep moving up.
If they lose... would be interesting if they fall to backend of top10 where they currently belong... but then as the bestest 2loss team ever. Unseating scUM's title there.

If they win tonight, they absolutely should be in the discussion. If they lose, they are done.

Osu could drop as far as 6 based on the rankings from last week and this week's results. I don't think they will fall that far, but they could (Bama jumps, lsu stays ahead, ND jumps, OK St jumps). I'll say they drop to 4. Bama jumps, LSU falls, and I'll go with a wildcard here of OK State going to #3.

No way they can keep LSU in the top 4. They got man-handled and their impressive win over Florida doesn't look so good considering how crappy Florida is.

I'm so tired of this SEC bias crap. Bama loses to a 3 loss Miss team (overrated, now we know), squeaks by Tenn, beats #2 LSU (who has beat who [Florida who BARELY beat Vandy], but is inflated because ONE player does the work) and now will be a one loss team at #2 above all the undefeated and one loss Notre Dame. Can someone, please, apply logic and maybe disagree with me?

Yeah, well ...

I don't think anyone with a brain, if they watched the Tide curb-stomp LSU tonight, thinks Alabama isn't one of the best four teams in the country.

Been waiting for LSU to get exposed all year. They were a 1-dimensional team, and Saban is setup to stop exactly what they do.
Bama still has the exact same glaring issues they had last week...
