Coaching changes: coaches hired and fired, comings and goings

Wisconsin: Pittsburgh head coach and former Badgers offensive coordinator Paul Chryst has emerged as the front-runner to replace Gary Andersen according to multiple reports. Ross Jones of Fox Sports reported late Thursday night that Chryst is on his way to Madison.

The Scoop

Paul Chryst was also an OC for Mike Riley a few years back.

Who cares, like @Jaxbuck has stated, its an easier road for OSU to the playoff
That's true. But while I'm not a real "conference loyalist", I do wish we would see some other programs take a step up. And if so, I'd prefer it be somebody besides scUM and the pedtards. Wiscy and corn had opportunities to do that, and whiffed.

We need other teams to step up... they dont have to be elite but they've gotta be better than the bed shitters that they are now

Honestly, I think Pittsburgh is a tough place to be a football coach. You're recruiting against Penn State and a big portion of the Big Ten for local talent. While they get to play and practice in fantastic facilities (Heinz Field and the Pitt Medical Sports Complex), I've always been of the opinion that on-campus facilities trump any other option. While not extremely far away, both of these are more than a half hour walk from campus. It just has a much different feel from other universities where everything is centrally located.
