Coaching changes: coaches hired and fired, comings and goings

Can't really understand why people would go out of their way to troll the corn. These are simple people, farmers, the common clay of the Midwest......you know, morons.

They need to get some of this stuff:

http://espn.go.com/college-football...eze-ole-miss-rebels-agrees-contract-extension

The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reported Monday night that the extension will raise Freeze's salary to $4 million per season and will also include raises for his assistants. The source did not mention the length of the extension.

Freeze had been making $3 million per season for the Rebels.

Florida issued a statement Monday saying "we have made no job offers to anyone" after reports surfaced that Gators had contacted Freeze. A source told ESPN.com's Brett McMurphy that Florida never contacted Freeze or Ole Miss about the opening.

He won at Briarcrest as a HS coach, won at the NAIA level, pulled off a ridiculous one year turnaround at Arkansas St, and now has Ole Miss competing at a level not seen in over half a century. I'm thinking Freeze can coach a bit.

Freeze is a hell of a coach. I put only Saban and Meyer ahead of him, personally.

Oh, I have no doubt he's a great coach, but I doubt he can sustain the success at Ole Miss because it is, at the end of the day, Ole Miss. They won't be a bottom dweller of the conference under his watch, but they won't be a consistent perennial contender, either. In my IMO, of course.

It would seem to be hard to win there consistently, but it would be cool if he stayed and gave it a go.

He is a good coach, no doubt but it helps to win with good recruits. And he started winning at Ole Miss once he had them. Never understand why a guy like Gary Pinkle at Missouri never gets any love. The guy has won a ton of games the last 5-6 years and never has a recruiting class that is ranked very high. That's a big factor to me in looking at a great coach.
