Most likely Tressel, with a serious look at Frost as OC.

Well, The Sock gettin' some conflicting information. Some says that the big $$$ folks with pull not too happy with Tressel and that the HC would likely be "someone else". Not sure that The Sock is qualified to sort this out and both these sources been good to me so I'll just set both ideas out there and you folks can decide.

The guy called it for Bo being fired and money not being an option. AD basically mirrored what the guy said in his presser. Sounds like there's already some kind of a done deal.

OK, The Sock been busy herdin' the little socks around and tryin' to stay on the good side of Mrs. Sock...

I may have misinterpretated a message on Tressel. Sounds like they was some disagreein' when it comes to who wants what. Tressel is still the odds on favorite in this horse race. One source calls him 75% N. The sock don't do math too good but them seem like descent odds. My peeps haven't heard Bielema's name anywhere. Sounds like the lawyers is involved right now trying to work out some bits n pieces with the NCAA.

Unfortunately, Bo isn't takin' these changes too good and will likely try to cause as much hurt to the Huskers as he can while he still can. The Sock is real sad to hear that and hopes that it turns out to be false. The Sock's also sad for the players. They lost they friend and mentor and they don't know what to think right now. Bein' kids like they is it's gotta be tough to take and they gonna say some stupid things (The Sock been there too) but hopefully it'll all settle down soon. Have patience and love for the kids is what The Sock thinks.

I think that's all for now.

Peace, Love and Huskers... Go Big Red!

You're buying into a guy who calls himself "the sock puppet," refers to his wife as Mrs. Sock, and and refers to himself in the 3rd person as "The Sock." Are you aware of this?

One thing jumped to mind for me as I read this; at Nebraska you have to recruit nationally, in order to do that you have to travel nationally.

A big factor in Urban Meyer choosing UF over ND job was how much easier it was to recruit (in terms of travel and time) than at ND.

I would think at this point in his life/career that might be a big reason Tressel wouldn't want to take that job all else being equal.

The other thing is the show cause on JT. This is the B1G we are talking about here, not the SEC. I'm not sure Delaney wants a member school to be hiring coaches that have recently landed another B1G school on probation.

Just my .02, I have no idea if this will happen or if its total bull[Mark May].

Re: I'm not sure Delaney wants a member school to be hiring coaches that have recently landed another B1G school on probation.

So are you saying that "Cardboard Joe" won't be a candidate for the Nebraska job either?

Hence me saying that the guy should be the next FauxPelini. Cause he's hilarious.

But, again, the guy been spot on so far. I mean, is it too far fetched to believe a guy on a message board wouldn't have inside info.....after an unknown tape of the now previous head coach made its way to the media?

Scott Frost would be very interesting as a HC candidate with checks in a lot of areas ... but don't think he makes a parallel move from OC at Oregon to OC at Nebraska.
Phil Knight would probably break the bank just for appearance sake.

That has never been a reason for anyone to not consider a position paying considerably more.

Yes there has. I used to work in Mandalay Bay at Rumjungle, which had the highest sales in the entire world. Now I work at a local joint about a mile from my house. Needless to say, I made significantly more money there, but I wouldn't go back for all the money in the world, and I have had opportunities. Sometimes the money isn't worth the stress and headache.

Look, I don't suggest that Tressel will necessarily consider a Nebraska offer should it be given.

I'll say this: Tressel is a much better coach than anyone else whose name has come up.

I agree.
