Well, look at it this way. All those assistant coaches and players from the 60s are either in the ground or too old for the job. And fast forward to their next period of relevance (2004-2009), and they're all too young.

Don't take this the wrong way, but WTF are you taking about. Saban isn't going to UT. Not now, not ever. Geez, is this really this first time we've seen this rodeo?

Dude... please go back and read most of my post.... I live in Austin, most of the shit I was posting was directly from the Horse's asses on the radio, didn't think I needed to note this anywhere... I never once believed Saban was leaving.. I was merely stating in this case that Mack leaving them getting Saban then Saban leaving quickly would destory Tejas fans....

For the rest..too many coincidences between the timing of the Brown/Powers/Patterson meeting and Saban signing or agreeing to sign his extension that had been sitting on his desk. Many are convinced this is an all out war between Billionaires:

This is pretty much what Chip Brown just said on am radio here in Austin. A couple small differences.

--Because he was still in play for a Big 12 title Mack was able to buy time on getting ousted

--Powers was able to push back the meeting where it was supposedly going to conclude with Mack's departure on good terms.

--Everyone wanted Mack to leave on good terms

--Once news about Saban leaked Mack was pissed

--Powers agreed to help out his buddy Mack Brown, doesn't want him to go unless he wants to go, on his own terms

--Mack doesn't want Saban here. Threatened to out negative info about regents and boosters if he doesn't get his way

--Saban gets wind about this late yesterday and quickly decides to stay in Alabama

--Here we are...waiting for Mack to tell the world if he's going to leave or if he's going to drag the program further into the hole he's created.
