Coaching changes: coaches hired and fired, comings and goings

Takes a pay cut (apparently 500k) to go to a Sun Belt team. Hmm....

He probably knows something we don't.....usually when you see stuff like this, some shyat is about to go down.

We could only hope.
Maybe his Petrino Length-of-Stay Meter tells him "two years at most" until he coaches the Hawgs at 3 mill a year. Forming relationships with Arkansas H.S. coaches again is step one of the plan.

Smoov?????

This surprised me - Todd Graham is leaving Pitt to go to Arizona State.

CBS

Todd Graham leaving Pittsburgh for Arizona State

UPDATE: A Pittsburgh official confirmed to CBSSports.com on Wednesday that Graham is headed to Arizona State.

Sometimes the coaching carousel spins slowly, and other times the college football world is blindsided by a surprise hire in the winter months. The news that Pittsburgh head coach Todd Graham is departing to accept the vacant job at Arizona State falls under the superspeed rapid spin cycle.
...

Graham just finished his first year at the helm in Pittsburgh, leading the Panthers to a 6-6 record and their second-straight appearance in the BBVA Compass Bowl. The former Tulsa head coach entered the season with promises of a high-octane offense and injecting energy back into the Pittsburgh program. But the offensive scheme failed to catch on in Graham's first year, and the Panthers finished in the bottom half of the Big East in passing and scoring offense. The one offensive highlight from the Panthers' first season under Graham was the explosion of running back Ray Graham, who averaged over 130 yards per game before suffering a season-ending knee injury.

Cont'd ...

So let me get this straight. Malzahn turned down going to Maryland or Vanderbilt. Was awarded a contract of $1.3 Million to stay at Auburn. Decided his best opportunity was to bolt to Arkansas State for $850K.

WOW

Also a native of Arkansas and its where his family and friends live. Not everything points to NCAA sanctions.

It isn't unheard of for coaches to simply want to be closer to home and to make the requisite decisions to do so. Certainly Buckeye fans understand this point.

Hawaii isn't fun to watch unless you're IN Hawaii. Anything else is like a starving man watch Charlie Weis eat at Sirloin Stockade....

UH is the only game in town, and fans here are actually farily passionate about their team. And Hawaii is actually quite fun to watch when their offense is clicking.

The problem for attendance is, do you: 1.) Want to pay for a ticket, parking, over-priced concessions, risk of DUI, and the hassle of driving to/from the game, or; 2) Watch the game at home on HD where the cost of the season--not a game, but the season--is less than one game ticket (provded you split the cost among friends/neighbors who watch it with you, like me)? They also don't have other fan-drawing attractions like skull session, ramp entrance, and Script Ohio.

I think that is why Roof alone mostly went unnoticed. Two coordinators seems to be an indicator more than a coincidence.
