For anyone who wants to legit throw out the "its not that bad of a haul" claim

Ahmed Rosario - a career .302 OBP which is pretty bad (league average in 2019 was .323) MIGHT get you 15 HR if you're lucky and a few SB. pretty much a black hole in a offense that is already a black hole

Andres Giminez - played in the short season last year, was the first time he had played above AA. .317 OBP with little/no power in 2 AA seasons. Another offensive black hole.

Prospect SP Josh Wolf who is anywhere between 9th-11th in the mets prospect rankings depending on who you ask. I guess he has "high upside" but also needs a "ton of work" Joy

and another fringe organizational top 10 prospect in OF Isaiah Greene who is another raw teenager who needs "a lot of work"

Does this really look like a "good haul" for a elite SS and a guy you could say is a legit #2 starter?

Who quotes OBP? Rosario is a stop gap, he has nothing to do with the value here, should it come to fruition.

Another local sports bozo defending the Dolans

"im not gonna defend them but heres me making excuses for them"

What rhe heck dude? He's right.

If the Mets didn't have a new owner looking to make a splash, what then? The fucking Blue Jays probably would like him, but they cant even play in Canada probably. The Yankees dont need him and there are a couple good SS on the market this year, and a pile next year.

Is he elite? Yeah. But he's not a particularly scarce asset

The reality of the situation is that Cleveland had zero leverage. Everybody knows Lindor was walking and that they couldn't pay him. Expecting any kind of a strong haul under those circumstances has no basis in reality. Until changes are made to the fundamental rules of MLB, teams like this can only hope to get 5-6 years from elite players before they're priced out of the market. We're a farm team for NY, BOS and LA.
