Eh, why not Cleveland Tribe? You can keep the block C or whatever other boring logo they want and same colors. We can all fall back asleep right after and pretend this 60 game season isn't happening.

Or - trade Lindor and an hour later announce you are the Cleveland Clevelanders and no one notices Lindor is gone....

Fuck this PC horseshit. I've been a Tribe fan since I was 7 years old. Grew up in my early years with names like Duke Sims, Sam McDowell, Tony "The Tiger" Horton, Ray Fosse, Steve Hargan, Kenny "The Hawk" Harrelson, and so many more to even mention. They change their name, and I change my team. They sold out to MLB last year by getting rid of The Chief to save the All Star game. That was enough. It's time to stop this madness once and for all.

You youngster:wink: I grew up with them at an early age also but I associate the names Lemon, Garcia, Wynn, Hegan, Doby, Strickland, etc. along with Chief Wahoo. I am in total agreement with "stop this madness".

I think this screwed up franchise should have a statue of Colavito over Thome. It was the most loved player this franchise probably ever had and he did not ever play for another team on his own volition.

Cleveland Buckeyes? Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown wants Indians to adopt new name honoring Negro League team

Sen. Sherrod Brown wants the Cleveland Indians to adopt the nickname used by the city’s Negro League team in from 1940’s.

It should have a pretty familiar ring to it in Columbus.

Brown said during a conference call with reporters on Wednesday that he left a message with the team’s ownership, the Dolan family, on Tuesday to say that the team should change its name to the Cleveland Buckeyes.

Brown is a big fan of the team, and on Wednesday he rattled off its historical accomplishments in helping to desegregate professional baseball, including signing the first black player in the American League when the team added Larry Doby to the roster. He pointed out that the Cleveland Buckeyes won the Negro League World Series in 1945.

I'm thinking trying Buckeye's might bring legal action, but I can't say I've heard any good suggestions so far. Spiders or Guardians are probably the least shitty. They should just sell the naming rights to make some extra money. i.e. the Cleveland Painters or Insurance Salesmen.
