they drafted a catcher with their first pick in the 2018 draft I think that might be the reason but I was thinking the same thing you were regarding Dingler

I mean they drafted a SS with their 1st pick this year (and another one in the 4th round) when currently their #2 and #6 prospects are SS.

Nothing ever wrong with stacking positions considering how often baseball prospects end up not working out.

agree but also young guys that play SS can usually play multiple positions as they mature such as 2nd or 3rd but after saying that I guess young guys who come up as catchers can end up playing 1st or maybe even the OF… Certainly would be able to DH
