Cleveland There’s Always Next Years (2021 Season)

At least they brought Bobby Bradley up finally & DFA'd Bauers. Bradley seemingly had as many hits in 1 series (2 starts) as Bauers had all season. Gotta believe Bradley is the future at 1B.

CF finally seems to be stabilized with Harold Ramirez. Harold at least is a legitimate MLB player, which is more than you can say for many of the guys they have cycled through the OF.

Now there’s a PFI (proper fucked inning) for Mejia

Pitching went from being a premium to being fucked real quick. These long reliever types they keep tossing out in the 4/5 spots are just cannon fodder.

The farm system is severely lacking in SP outside of Daniel Espino, and you know the FO isnt going to pony up money for good starters down the line. So they are basically going to be relying on relatively unknown prospects breaking through or getting lucky on bargain bin signings. It's a few injuries or if/when they decide to trade Bieber/Civale away from 2009 levels of bad.

You mean like the relatively unknown prospects you just mentioned?

Hell Plesac was a 12th Round pick.

Quantrill and McKenzie are are least 1st round picks (though McKenzie was a competitive balance pick)

That is true.

I guess there's just a gap right now where anyone who looks like they might be decent is far enough away from the majors that its looking pretty hopeless for a couple of years. If they are going to continue to totally dismantle further and trade guys away, now would be the time to do it.

Yeah, they might as well go full Astros at this point

Say what you will about the dirty cheating fucks, but they lost 100 games in 11-13, and won 100 in 17-19. They were probably the most extreme example of a tear down in quite some time, but they tore down with a purpose, and they didn’t rush guys like MacKenzie to the bigs to win 65 games instead of 55
