3-4 weeks from now we will still hear "It's early, we are a team that starts slow, we started like this last year and look, no need to panic" If we were playing .500 ball I could accept a slower start, but 11-17 while having one of the worst offenses and pitching in the league? Color me concerned for this team.

This is essentially 2008 all over again... only I don't think we will even win 81 games by the looks of this team.

Within the next 3-4 weeks, they'll be struggling to draw 8000 a game.
I wonder what Shapiro projected. Maybe it is the 8000 that you are talking about. I do not even know if they will get that.
On attendance -- the Indians are last in the league in that category -- Shapiro said the low turnout is nothing the organization didn't expect or already plan around.

"What we've seen so far from an attendance standpoint is not worrisome," he said. "We've done a little better than we projected."

This team is so fucked. I mean soooo fucked. Even if Bauer and Tomlin turn out to be what Masterson and Carrasco were supposed to be, they're still fucked.

On deck: Jose Abreu, and his 10 homers (the Indians have 19).

We are tied for 2nd worst in baseball in errors committed at 26. 19th in runs, 25th in batting average, 19th in on base percentage, 27th in slugging percentage, 21st in ERA, 24th in quality starts, 23rd in whip, 22nd in batting average against. 4th worst record in baseball, and minus 26 in run differential.

But hey lets just sit back and listen to the teams coaches, players, and management talk about how their is no reason to be concerned or anything. Apparently it's a good thing to start a marathon 4 miles after the rest of the pack.

This has been this franchise's M.O. since the Hargrove teams were broken up about a dozen years ago. They'll bubble up and be competitive every few years for a season, then fall apart and start over. Their best run in that period (04-07), when Pronk, Sizemore, Sabathia, Peralta, VMart, etc were coming off age yielded one postseason appearance ('07)...and one monumental choke ('05). There's nowhere near that amount of talent available now. They went all in last year by overpaying for a declining semi-star in Swisher, and another in Bourne. Neither are earning their keep.

Three to four years ago, the farm system was loaded with pretty good prospects that a resurgence was supposed to be built around...LaBusta, Chis, Kipnis, Carrasco, Weglarz, Hagadone, Masterson, and Santana. Of those guys, only Kipnis broke through. Santana has been decent until this year, but not the middle-of-the-order masher he was supposed to be. And he flat-out sucks hyena balls now. Chis has been good in limited duty this year, but has shown no signs of being an everyday player. Masterson is useful every other year. They have to hope they can salvage Carrasco in the pen. Hagadone has been a gascan in the bullpen. Weglarz flamed out in AA. And we know LaBusta's shitty story. You can throw Brantley in that group as well, and he's at least developed into a serviceable ML outfielder. Right now, serviceable makes him arguably their best player.

This franchise is circling the drain. Again. It's fucking depressing being a Tribe fan.

Add to that the rapid decline of Assdribble in everything, Ryan Raburn suddenly remembering he is Ryan Raburn, Yan Gomes going downhill on defense, keeping Elliot Johnson...I mean seriously, WTF? Elliot fucking Johnson? and giving him no ABs, so wasting a roster spot. They also aren't taking advantage of Aviles like they should AT ALL (50 ABs? WTF Francona? This team is stroking rhino schlong all over the order and Aviles gets 50 ABs?) , they have no real DH, Giambi needs a walker to get to a urinal, they sent down their most dangerous hitter (:slappy: for that fact alone, let that sink in for a minute), Carrasco is a walking dumpster fire in the rotation and is out of options, Tomlin and Bauer belong up but they only have room for one...

On the flip side, their dumpster diving in the offseason has worked well again. But Outman and Murphy cannot make up for this heaping pile of suck.
