And they still have the guy for six more guaranteed seasons after this one (owed $30 million each year from 2018-21 then $32 million in '22 and '23), by which time he'll be 40 years old. Just an absolutely horrendous contract.Man, has Miguel Cabrera fallen off a cliff, or what? He used to feast on tribe pitching, and he hasn't done [Mark May] against us, or anyone else for that matter, this year. Currently sitting at .245...
I think Mickey is just starting to wear down. Almost from the start of this season he has not really been the same player as in past seasons. Last night he was even laughing when Kluber struck him out. I think he is still one of the most dangerous hitters in baseball and when he was up last night in the ninth inning it is not like I thought the game was over until he made the last out. I think he knows his team has given up and it is almost like he could give a damn about the rest of the season.Man, has Miguel Cabrera fallen off a cliff, or what? They have a collection of horrendous contracts...a couple of which they unloaded this year for little in return. They were just incredibly dumb with their spending, going nuts as their window was already closing. And they still have the guy for six more guaranteed seasons after this one (owed $30 million each year from 2018-21 then $32 million in '22 and '23), by which time he'll be 40 years old. He was still really good last year, .316/.393/.563, 38 hr, 108 rbi. He just nosedived this year, .246/.330/.398, 15 hr, 59 rbi coming into today.I think Mickey is just starting to wear down.
