Eh, at least it's not only us with the not so great start

Tribe, Cubs and Red Sox were pretty much unanimously the top 3 teams according to "experts" preseason (in whatever given order)

Tribe 20-17
Cubs 18-19
Red Sox 19-18

These guys who have sucked to start the season, at least a couple of them are bound to turn it around......hopefully at least.

If it means anything we were 18-17 on May 16 of last season. The White Sox were in first place at 24-14 (lol)

Yeah, the point of April was to be still in it. I don't know when the 1st time we were in 1st place last year, my recollection is around June 1st and didn't take command of things till July 1st or so (Or at whatever point in the "streak" you want). Then July was sketchy, then they played great down the stretch. They just need to get a lead (really of any amount) and play lights out in August and Sept.

Exactly. You can't win a division in April but you can sure as hell put yourself in a shitty deep hole.

It was June 4th when we took 1st last year

at 30-24 overall

July 1 we were 7 games ahead in 1st at 49-30

If it's July 1 and they are still barely above .500 (or worse) then might be the time to maybe start to worry some. The AL Central is so bad this year though 3 games over .500 might win the damn thing.

wtf happ to salazar? the injury last year? league figured him out? man
Strikes out people at a near league leading clip. Also gives up gophers balls at a near league shattering clip. It seems to be mainly mental. He changed up his pre-game routine, eliminating throwing weighted balls. Instead he ended up throwing BP to the Rays last night.

Not to get all "metricky" but Tribe starters are dead last in the AL and 28th in baseball with an ERA of 4.86 but are 2nd in all of baseball in K/9. So Danny's problems seem to be the staff's problems. And another thing that is comforting is that the team is 28th in MLB with a BABIP which you would think will correct itself over time. Conversely the bullpen has the best ERA in baseball and you wonder how long that can last.

@Bucklion is accurate that Corey Dickerson's ball has not landed yet as it is somewhere in low Earth orbit.

Still shitty.

Still [Mark May]ty.
My gut feeling is it's all interrelated with the offense to some degree, not necessarily last night but once they get rolling scoring runs, and they will, they will realize they need to pitch to contact a little more and the outlier stats will sort themselves out. Well not Bauer he'll still pitch up when he shouldn't. Couple guys in the bullpen are probably gonna come back to Earth. (The second line guys, the other guys do what they do)
