Cleveland Indians 2015 Thread of Barely Restrained Contempt (BALLS)

I think I may hop aboard the Pirates bandwagon for the rest of this season. I hate Pittsburgh, but I've never had a problem with the Pirates. It's good to see a small market team experiencing some success after mostly building from within. And McCutcheon might be my favorite player in MLB. Of course, if I throw my support behind them, it all but guarantees a heartbreaking end to their season. Sorry, @Jake.

Erie Warriors trade David Murphy to Angels

Get 23 year old SS Eric Stamets in return

Perhaps one of the greatest all time confirmations of the inevitable suck of Ohio pro sports can be found in this gem of a scouting report:

Baseball America ranked Stamets as the No. 23 prospect in the Angels’ system following the 2014 season. “Stamets would be one of the top prospects in baseball if he could hit as well as he plays defense,” BA writes.

:slappy:

No shit? Is that all? That's like saying he'd have the biggest dick in porn if it were just a foot longer.

that's not going to happen by trading david murphy, or any other stiff they have on this roster.

The Murphy trade saved the Indians just over $3M, including the $500,000 buyout they would have owed Murphy if they did not exercise their 2016 $7M team option on him. As said above, this was nothing but a deal to save some cash.... And it won't be the last one they do this week and in August. As always with the Indians, there are 2 rules to follow: (1) Watch what they do, not what they say, and (2) Follow the money!

Rumors out there they could be trading Moss to the Cardinals for Rob Kaminsky, a 20 year old lefty ranked third in their farm system. Has a 2.09 ERA with 79 Ks in 94.2 IP this season in High A ball.
Looks like it's happening. Decent return, though this dude seems to be your stereotypical soft-tossing lefty. And he's as ugly as Frank the Tank.

More ABs for Holt and (presumably) Aguilar, so I can't complain.
