The trump card is no team that Love won't sign long term with is going to trade a future star for <1 year. Getting Bennett, Waiters, and a pick or two is more than enough for a year of Love.
For the people saying trade Wiggins where to you get the other 10+ mil to even out the trade?
sooner or later we might just need a center.. just sayin
Haywood would have to be a part of the trade to make it work. No issues there.
They said this morning they aren't signing him so they can trade his rights immediately and avoid having to wait the 30 days.Well, you just sign Wiggins and that's $5 Million, add in Bennett and Carrick Felix and that gets you there money wise.
Speaking of, why haven't the Cavs signed Wiggins? One thing I haven't found is whether not signing him assigns him a cash value in trades or there is some other advantage to that. The only thing I know is you can't trade him for 30 days after he signs... so why not sign him now to get the clock starter? Just haven't read/heard why there is an advantage to that.
His name is Gorgui Deng...
Because you have limited windows in these situations. Maybe Wiggins will be a great player three or four years down the road. But where will LeBron be at that time? But why not let the #1 pick overall show you what he's got before you overpay?
And when is that going to be?I'd rather let this team grow with Wiggins so that they're ready to win by the team the Western powerhouses aren't as good.
San Antonio is a great team with very old superstars. Their run is just about over. I definitely think that a Cavs team with the Big Three would have a very good chance of beating the Spurs in a seven-game series, or any other team for that matter.Do you honestly believe we'd be San Antonio with no depth and little to no defense?

Before the proposed Wiggins-for-Love trade, I had never heard the "defense wins championships" mantra applied to the NBA. I'm not going to say that defense is totally unimportant, but you still win games by scoring more points than your opponents. And the Cavs with their Big Three would be able to out-score their opponents on most nights.
Equating Kevin Love with Toni Kukoc is simply ridiculous. Fifty years of losing has caused Cleveland fans to collectively lose theirs minds.Do you want the guy that can be Pippen or do you want Toni Kukoc?
I'm going to stick with Pippen, his ability to guard the others teams best player so Lebron doesn't have to and I will enjoy all of the amazing fast break highlights.
Having said that, straight up Wiggins for Love and you get a 3 or 4 year commitment from Love, you have to do it. (Not saying that's all that would need to happen but, just to distill it to that choice)
If the LeBron melodrama proved anything, it's that the e!spn nba "insiders" have nothing. I believe nothing that comes from any of them. Their credibility is dog [Mark May]. I guarantee you I could call Broussard claiming to be connected to the Cavs front office, give him a "tidbit", and he'd run with it.
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Take a deep breath Cavs fans. You could be in for another long weekend.
ESPN's Chris Broussard is reporting that the Cavaliers and Timberwolves have "discussed a blockbuster trade" for forward Kevin Love centered around this year's top pick in the draft, Andrew Wiggins, and last year's top pick, Anthony Bennett. Additionally, according to Broussard, "One source said the Cavs are also willing to give up a first-round draft pick for next season. Any other players involved in the talks are not known."
I'd like to think that even a Cleveland pro-team front office isn't that stupid...ESPN's Chris Broussard is reporting that the Cavaliers and Timberwolves have "discussed a blockbuster trade" for forward Kevin Love centered around this year's top pick in the draft, Andrew Wiggins, and last year's top pick, Anthony Bennett.
