Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

If you think the mechanics aren't a legitimate concern for MKG, you're wrong. It may be something that can be fixed or it may not. But it is absolutely a concern if you're taking him that high.

He averaged a little over 11 pts/gm for a loaded UK squad. So I'm not going to hammer him for his production. But he's not shown the ability to score 20+/gm at the next level' especially if teams can back off him like they probably will do.

At the end of the day, your team needs to be able to score. You're not going to win consistently in this if you have to rely on Kyrie to put up 30+/gm while you're defense holds your opponent to 80. With Jamison gone, who on this team besides Kyrie can score? And who on this team can shoot?

I like MKG if we had some perimeter scoring from the 2-guard postion but we don't. He's just not a good fit with Kyrie. We need someone who can shoot and there are 2 guys in this draft who can do just that.

Absolutely, he won't fix the Cavs but neither will any one player in the draft. He would just be another piece in the puzzle. When your team is as shitty as the Cavs are, it takes a while to build the team back up. They're still going to suck next year, so they get to add two more first round picks again, maybe three. If they take him at 4, they'll certainly take shooters/scorers after that.

It's easier reading the thread, than pm's.

Really, isn't that what message boards are for? To go back and forth?

Certain posters have a history of, let's say, negatively hijacking this thread "going back and forth" on what are really increasingly trivial points.

Do we really need to be discussing someone's particular version of Kawhi Leonards development over the last couple years in painful minutae?

Does this have ANYTHING to do with MKG?

Let's just take all 3 and then sort it out later.

Over the past college season, I recorded a lot of games just to watch some of these guys play. Based only on that, I was impressed by Davis, Robinson, and MKG. MKG impressed me as an athlete, I'm not saying he looked like Charles Barkley but he got a lot of rebounds for a guy only about 6'6".

I was very unimpressed by Perry Jones, Andre Drummond, Jeremy Lamb, and Harrison Barnes. Barnes reminded me of Antwan Jamison, as he looks better than he plays. Also didn't impress me as much of an athlete, played his high school ball in Iowa.

Beal, I was OK with at best. I've heard he has looked great in the work outs. If the Cavs think he's the next MJ, or Duane Wade, they have to move up. And yes, I would take Sullinger in a second if he fell all the way to 24.

I think we should clutter up a draft thread debating the merits of what items should be in the thread vs discussed via pm.
