I think we should clutter up a draft thread debating the merits of what items should be in the thread vs discussed via pm.

I'm sure, if I so chose, I could unclutter this all rather quickly. :wink2:

this article doesn't make a lot of sense in its message. the bobcats need outside shooting, especially the 3 ball, so they'll trade down and bypass the best shooter in this draft to take one of two guys that don't really shoot well outside?

I think the point is that they have so many holes to fill, trading out to acquire more picks is what they are after...but ya they need a 3 point shooter so why trade out when Beal is right there...i for one hope they decide to take more picks ...Beal and Irving together is making me horny

i still dont think this changes any of the cavs plans of not trading up to get beal...this draft reminds me of the browns draft somewhat...to secure the player we want, we may have to overpay to get him...just because its pretty obvious that the bobcats may not need to draft a SG, they could go Minnesota Timberwolves on everyone and take a player at a position they do not need...i still think we need to trade up to #2 just so we do not get burnt if Beal is the player that Grant indeed wants...and with the arsenal of draft picks we have i dont think it would be overpaying at all

i agree but i still wish i had ron harper in exchange for danny ferry. sometimes the new guy isn't as good as the guy you have either.

I would totally move up for my guy in the draft whoever that was though. no price in draft picks would be too much if he was the guy.

Wonder if #4 and #33 is enuf to get #2
especially since the guy [strike]Wizards[/strike] Bobcats want (Robinson) will be there @ #4

FIFY - I think your selling Jordan short.. just the 2 second rounders we have should be enough

it's come out this morning that the cavs and bobcats haven't spoken in days. apparently the bobcats wanted #24 and AV and the Cavs hung up.

the cavs then bring in terrance ross for a workout last night. now the bobcats are saying that someone has to take tyrus thomas if they want #2.

so basically, the bobcats could have leveraged either #24 or two 2nds from the cavs for #2 and still got the guy they wanted, but have screwed the pooch. it wouldn't surprise me if the cavs could now get the #2 for #4 and taking tyrus thomas's awful contract off their hands. while not a good contract for cleveland, it might be worth it to see byron scott try to pull hair out of his bald head watching thomas play.

edit for chad ford tweets above:

this is what happens when the nba equivalent of two retards try to scare each other. everyone knows that there is no way washington deals down to a team that wants t-rob. just like all the supposed lakers deals for the #3 pick, which don't even work under CBA rules, this couldn't be a more obvious smokescreen. so, of course chad ford thinks it's smart.

So if I'm the Bobcats (thanks AuTX) I draft Beal and wait till the Cavs are on the clock.. then if TRob is there.. I have the Cavs take TRob and I trade Beals for TRob and both #33 and #34

they would never do it without a deal in place first. the cavs could simply take their guy at #4 and tell the bobcats to screw themselves otherwise.

that being said, if cleveland could make the deal for both 2nds, they would have done so by now. but the bobcats are playing a game of hardball they really can't win.
