Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

DeRozan, 5 years $139 mil. This won't end well.

Derozan's deal makes the most sense of all of the deals that have been made. A bit high, but what deal isn't high with this new cap. At least he has the numbers to back up the money he will be making. Assuming he continues on the upward swing, he should average close to 25 PPG next year.

Evidently they are planning on Felder contributing this season? I'm guessing he is pretty much near his peak so either he can play or he can't. Be nice if they could get JR to sign something similar to what Delly got to lock him up. The money flying around is crazy. Still don't get the Timo contract. I don't know if I would pay him that much even if he played this whole season like the second half of last season. Hopefully there are some ring chasers out there to fill out the roster. Shump better get his shit together this off season because he is going to have to play a bigger role next year.

I think that was the plan once they drafted Felder. Delly was going to get paid somewhere, and Cleveland had a cheaper option in rookie Felder. I absolutely agree on Shump. He's due nearly $10 mil the next two seasons (I believe the second year is a bit above 10). He needs to perform quickly, or he could be a mid-season trade casualty.

Kyrie may now have the best contract in the NBA or maybe LeBron.

TT's is a bargain.

Hell Love's looks good.

So how do we backfill for Delly & Moz?

Yeah all those contracts from last year (even Shump) look cheap. The only matchup I would worry about losing and not replacing Timo would be against Howard if the Hawks could shoot like the Magic team that knocked the Cavs out of the ECF. Of course that is assuming the Howard from that team shows up this year, which hasn't happened since then. I get it from the Hawks perspective. Swing for the fence or strike out. If the Cavs let Delly walk we will need the 3 and D from Shump that Delly brought. He technically should be great at that if he could get his 3pt % up near 40. I'd look for Felder to get some minutes. The guys they compare him to (Robinson, Thomas) all played well early in their career, he's just limited by his height. I'd shoot for David West and maybe another 3 and D wing chasing a ring.

The problem with Shumpert is that he has no trade value right now. During the playoffs, he was terrible offensively (couldn't shoot, took bad shots, and turned the ball over), and got lost defensively. I can definitely see Felder and McRae taking his minutes if he doesn't get his shit together.

Mozgov making $6M more than Al Jefferson's deal? f outta here.

NBA is cray.

The Lakers and Knicks were bidding against themselves with Mozgov and Noah. Nobody else would've offered close to that amount.
