Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

Durant to GS is absolutely killer. I do think OKC would've beaten them if KD had stayed, but now I can't see a single team in the West that will challenge GS. Maybe the Spurs can take them to 6.

The trouble for the Cavs now becomes lineups. They started to dominate GS when LeBron defended Green. Now LeBron will have to defend Durant, and I'm not sure who defends Green. Thompson probably becomes a Kevin Love-esque stand in the corner and shoot 3s guy, but if he's the open man instead of Harrison Barnes, the rest of the league is in trouble.

I'm not sure what the Cavs will do to respond. Boston is probably off the table for a Love trade because they just got Horford. The only trade I'm really interested in is Love for CJ McCollum, but reports have said the Blazers aren't willing to deal him.

Would we have the space/desire to procure Bogut?
I'm not comfortable riding with Sasha Baron as our true center.
I realize the playoffs are a different beast but we need minutes eaters in the regular season.

Cavs don't have cap to acquire anyone. They really can only go for ring chasers and one 3.5 mil contract. Not like they need a true center against the warriors. They really need more athletic wings that can shoot and play D. LeBron, Love, and TT can hold down the 4 and 5 against Green and who else? Andy?

KD better take more shit than anything LeBron saw. Going to a championship team is the biggest pussy move. I can't imagine the tax bill in GS in a couple years. This should help solidify support for the Cavs with NBA fans. At least Curry is done winning MVPs.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Kevin Durant to GS is not a good move. GSW's best attribute was their ability to beat you with their bench. That's what won them the title in 2014-15. Now that all changes, and they are more reliant than ever on Igoudala. My guess is the team starts to break down before the playoffs while still winning 60-65 games. Then they'll crash hard out of the playoffs, hopefully by the Thunder.

I hope your right. Their bench play was superior during the playoffs, but you can't underestimate adding a top 3 player in the NBA to your team. On paper it should be a lock, but it's hard to tell with injuries/chemistry. When golden state breaks down they absolutely fall apart, but when they are on they are killers. A lot of people are just looking at this like they are adding KD and losing nothing. While I agree, they did suffer some real losses to their bench,it's going to be a bitch to stop that machine when it's turned on. OKC over golden state now is a big reach imo..Duncan is going to retire, but the spurs picked up gasol. Hopefully, something happens and this all falls apart for golden state. I would LOVE to see KD retire without a ring now. It's WAY worse then the james situation was. KD should get 1000x the shit James did. It was a gutless move to join the team you lost to..if he showed up in one of those final 3 games the cavs were playing OKC for a title, and everything is different..Coward shit imo

He's also very ball dominant. Whether he stops being a shot clock hog or not is the biggest question. GSWs offense is predicated on ball movement, so it will be interesting to see GS in a crunch time situation with the ball in Durant's hands.

Igoudala isn't getting any younger, and he's going to get more minutes next season, and Curry still has injury issues. One injury and this whole experiment blows up in their face.

Yea I think that's where the bench thing is going to be a huge difference like you were saying in the previous post. I guess we will see how far ahead they can get out of everyone else with their starters. The odds of nobody getting hurt are nearly non existent. Serious injuries are another thing though. Durant isn't made of steel either. Karma tends to serve people who are begging for it as well. It's funny how many people i've talked to today that actually try to make this situation comparable with LBJ's. It's nothing at all like it,and I really question anyone who can actually believe that shit.

Same. Had one person say LeBron's move was the worse of the two, when it comes to image. I couldn't help but laugh. Miami was 47-35 the year before LeBron joined them..

I take jabs whenever I can at Golden State. Especially when it comes to people claiming last year's team was the best in NBA history. I say that's not even close. The Bulls still have that crown, and it's going to be a long while until another team threatens their record and accomplishments.

I understand they are currently over the cap.
Can you give me the cliff notes on some confusion:
Cap is going up 30%.
Certainly we will replace Delly, Moz and perhaps JR.
What ring chasers might be available?
Side bar-Does Craft have a chance to make the Warriors after they depleted their bench.
