Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

Oh, thought it was 15.
The team would be at 12 active players without: Harris, Kaun or the (#3 SG/SF)
So if they sign Kaun then they wouldn't be able to add anyone mid-season using the TPE.
So basically they only have one spot left, right now. (after resigning Thompson and JR)

In that case, I say forget Kaun and leave the spot open.

I think the "#3 SG/SF" stays open if they can get Kaun to sign. Pointer can go strait to Canton. Harris will probably spend plenty of time down there.

Tristan Thompson's agent, Rich Paul, tells @Sportsnet TT may sign 1yr Qualifying offer with Cavs. If so, it "will be his last year" w team.

5 years. He isn't going to do much better than that and never will if he takes the QO this year.

Yea I'm not sure how serious we're supposed to take this crap. $80mil/5yr is such a bad deal, he's willing to throw away $10mil this year on the hopes that he'll get... $90mil/5yr next year (so he'll net a whopping extra $6mil 5 years from now -- probably on a team that's not going to the playoffs)
And we're expected to believe he should be the offended party because *he* decided to lose $10mil this year on a gamble that has no upside???
It really doesn't make sense.
I get the cap is going up ... but 80mil is already overpaying with that in mind.

For those curious, Cavs will open the season on the road at Chicago (Tuesday, October 27), play the next night in Memphis and then play their home opener against Miami on Friday, October 30.

Nice "eff you" from the NBA to Cavs fans by making the team play a third game in four nights as its home opener.
